Canon TS-E 17mm f/4 L

The Canon TS-E 17mm f/4 L is the widest tilt-shift lens available on the (consumer) market - that's not just in Canon land but across all brands. We will elaborate on the tilt-shift (thus TS) function in more detail later on but for starters - the tilt aspect refers to the focus plane which is...

Even better now....on my Sony A7RII

I have been using this lens for almost a decade now and it always "enhanced" every situation I had to capture, obviously architecture and landscape. But now mounted on a Sony A7RII it's just ridiculous the improvement in image quality over my last Canon body (5D MKIII..

being manual focus this lens will slow you down and bring you back to optical basics. Using this lens coupled with a Canon EOS 5D Mark III and live view it feels like I've returned to my college days of using a view camera.

Mind-boggling quality and technology - and photos

This lens takes some work to understand, but there's no other piece of equipment at any price that makes the near-perfect pictures this lens takes. Panoramic vistas, distortion-free architectural shots, expanded or shortened DOF shots - all from one lens.

Parfait sauf...

Simply Amazing

This lens is technically flawless and simply amazing. I shoot landscape and architectural photography. This lens handles both so well. Of course, it's main application will be architectural photography.

Superb

I was using the 16-35mm for landscapes but the distortion and soft corners were starting to grate on me, yes I could correct distortion in post processing but not without detriment to the resolution and sharpness.

Consistent Output; Durable; Rugged; Strong Construction

AWESOMELY SHIFTY

changes the way you shoot architecture - totally indispensable & can't imagine shooting without it now that i'm used to it - alittle tricky to master though

This lens can do lots of things that others dont. Amazing for landscape, architecture and panorama. But its not a lens for beginners, changing the perspective, controlling light, focus depth all hand holding requires some training.

Sharp; sharp; sharp with a world of creative possibilities; Only lens capable of changing perspective and depth of focus in the same aperture; Shifting and stitching can make pictures as wide as 11mm equivalent without fisheye effect; Easy to focus in manual mode (do not have auto mode

Expensive, and not easy to operate in tilt and shift mode, Camera exposure metering will not work in shift and tilt modes, Front element VERY exposed..; take much care, Do not accept front filters

One of the best lenses

Amazing lens, crispy sharp and a drem for architectural photographers. Only down size is the lack of threading...

Consistent Output; Durable; Nice Bokeh; Strong Construction

Heavy; No Threading; Slow Focus
