So, I unpackaged my brand new speedlite last night. The thing has brand new batteries in it and reads as NO battery.. pretty frustrating and I am glad I didn't wait until I had an important event to professionally photograph with the thing!

Not very good flash
I have recently purchased this product for my new 77d. it is an improvement on the previous model(which i had on 700d ) as well as being slightly lighter and smaller. It even comes with a diffuser.
Do not know how long this has been, but in my opinion if you do not need 600 model, I can say that the little is better than the big bulky, much more that you do not want. 430 III is a very good FLASH arguably better than the 600 model, and I'm with the group, small fast everything can and do I get...
If you are going to learn to take great pictures indoors or outdoors sooner or later you will need an external flash, and I highly recommend Canon speedlite. I used It on the first day that I recieved It and was amazed how different the pictures looked with a external flash.
Canon 430EX III RT on included stand (13.9 oz./394 g) with 4-AA eneloop , 24-105mm zoom head with 14mm wide panel, catchlight card, 3.0 second measured recycle time, measured GN 22m/71' at 35mm, rated GN 43m/141' at 105mm, about $299 ). bigger .
With the introduction of the Speedlite 600EX-RT, one thing was inevitable – more radio-enabled flashes from Canon should be expected. Surprisingly, the 600EX-RT remained Canon's only radio-enabled flash for more than three years.
