Canon Powershot SX210 Digital Camera Review
For its market, the PowerShot SX210 IS does a good job of meeting what most people want from their super-zoom compacts. It produces consistent images in its automatic setting and the results straight out of camera should look pleasing in a 6x4 print.

Canon PowerShot SX210 IS
The first few months of the year are always an interesting time in the camera industry, with all of the major manufacturers launching their new Spring models. Competition is fierce, and no more so than in the popular long-zoom compact sector of the market.- Manual controls
- 14x zoom lens (28 - 392mm
- HD video with stereo sound
- All-metal body
- Generally soft images
- Fiddly zoom control
- Too high resolution for size
Canon PowerShot SX210 review
Canon's PowerShot range can be confusing. Unlike the Ixus range, which is a fairly tight grouping of mid-range compacts, a PowerShot can be anything from the A490 (now down to just £80 and no worse for it) to the breath-taking DSLR-threatening Canon G11 , which costs nearly £400.

UPDATE 07/07/2011: In line with our new, tighter test criteria, the SX210 now gets four stars in the 'Picture Quality' section rather than five.- Electronic noise handled well up to 800 ISO
- Well made
- Good quality LCD screen in spite of low definition
- Good
- consistent zoom over the entire focal range
- Integrated HDMI connection
- Low battery life (in our model at least
- Annoying pop-up flash and disappointing burst mode
- No exposure histogram in shooting mode
- Zoom controls ridiculously small
- Poorer video quality than competitors' models
Great Quality for the Value
This camera is very easy to use and takes a great picture. Great value for the money.

Canon Powershot SX210 IS Review – Zoooom!
Conclusion: The Canon Powershot SX210 IS has an impressive zoom range, one of the longest reaches available at 14x optical zoom – zooming all the way to the equivalent of 392mm – normally this level of optical zoom comes in the form of an SLR-style ultra zoom.- What I Don't Like
