Canon PowerShot G7X
The PowerShot range is only one step down from their DSLR offerings; however they are small enough to fit in your pocket but are still extremely powerful units that have a large number of features that started out in their DSLR models.
Canon Powershot G7X Mark II G7XII review
The PowerShot range is only one step down from their DSLR offerings; however they are small enough to fit in your pocket but are still extremely powerful units that have a large number of features that started out in their DSLR models.
Stellar UI and handling however so very disappointed with the optics. Basically unusable for any shots requiring edge-to-edge sharpness (landscapes, architecture) below 5.6 aperture and 50mm equivalent focal length. More than soft edges, soft well into the centre.
A good camera
Very good camera for shooting both vdos and still. Since the sensor size is big, it has a very good low light performance. The biggest advantage of this camera is it's size. This camera is not exactly pocketable but you can carry it in your jacket pocket.
I was expecting a lot for a point and shoot that cost over $700. I was not disappointed. I can honestly say this camera takes better pictures then my partner's Canon Rebel (whatever numbers follow that designation).
Canon G7X Mark II Review
- Large sensor
- Wide aperture lens
- Touch-sensitive screen
- Wi-Fi
- Lack of viewfinder
- Short zoom
- Macro focusing is tricky
Great little camera
Bought this to supplement a big Canon DSLR. Has many of the same features, very flexible settings, neat swivel screen, feels solid to hold, quick to respond etc. Shoots RAW images as well as JPEG, good results and also very good HD video (no 4K). Controls for speed/aperture/ISO etc easy to access.
Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II Review (Review Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II)
The Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II is a pricey pocket camera with image quality that goes toe-to-toe with much larger models.- Wide aperture zoom lens., 1-inch image sensor., Tilting touch-screen display., Quick autofocus., Raw image capture support., Wi-Fi with NFC.
- No hot shoe or EVF., Edge softness at wide angle., Occasional autofocus misses., Doesn't support 4K video capture., Omits microphone input.
Takes great photos
Camera takes really good quality photos and love that the scream can move around
Second Time Around: Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II Review
The Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II is a well-designed enthusiast compact that's a pleasure to use. It offers a versatile focal range, very good image quality, a large buffer for continuous shooting and 1080/60p video capture. Sharpening and noise reduction in JPEGs are heavy-handed, and battery life still needs work, but aside from those issues Canon has done an impressive job with the second iteration of the G7 X.- Travelers seeking a pocketable camera that performs well in low light and offers good control over depth-of-field.
- Peak action and sports photography. Those hoping to get a full day of shooting day with a single battery.
