Great little camera

Very pleased with this camera. I wanted a pocketable camera (granted fairly big pockets) that would have DSLR like image quality and controls. I still prefer my DSLR for handing and responsiveness but, mainly used for travelling and being discreet, it fits the bill nicely and is a good compromise...

Canon PowerShot G5 X

The Canon PowerShot G5 X is a new premium compact camera with a large CMOS image sensor and a fast lens. The metal-bodied G5 X has a 1.0-type back-illuminated 20.2 Megapixel CMOS sensor, an f/1.8-2.8, 4.2x lens with 9-blade aperture, full manual controls, shooting mode and exposure compensation...

Canon Powershot G5 X Review

The Canon Powershot G5 X is a development of the G7 X , and features the same large 20 megapixel 1inch BSI CMOS sensor, and bright 4.2x optical zoom f/1.8-2.8 lens, but adds a tilting vari-angle touch-screen, electronic viewfinder and updated design.

4.2x optical zoom lens; 20mp 1inch sensor; Good noise performance; Tilting vari-angle touch-screen; Great image quality and colour; Excellent EVF quality; Solid build quality and handling; Wi-Fi and NFC; USB charging; Rapid focus

Lacks panoramic shooting mode; Short battery life - unless using ECO mode; High speed shooting much slower with raw

Canon Powershot G5X - A DSLR in a point-and-shoot suit

I do most of my photography on a smartphone or DSLR; for a quick snap, it's usually the smartphone for easy sharing capabilities. If I want a better quality photo, I bust out the DSLR. But in the words of Old El Paso, "por que no los dos?".

Excellent build; Manual controls feel great; Fantastic photo quality

Battery life shorter than a DSLR; LCD and viewfinder could be higher resolution

Canon PowerShot G5 X

It seems as if Canon is trying to cover as many bases as possible in its G-series models, releasing three of them in the past 12 months and two in the previous year. The G5 X is the higher-featured of two models announced in October, both using the same 12.8 x 9.6 mm, 20.2-megapixel sensor as last...

I recently bought a G5 X as a walkaround and to compliment my Canon mirrorless and DSLR kit comprising 2 x EOS RP and a 7D MKI. I've only been using it for a week and am really impressed with the IQ and ease of use.

Excellent

This is the first PowerShot camera I've owned. It's smaller than it appears in photos, but takes outstanding photos. The electronic viewfinder is excellent, bright and detailed. Controls similar to Canon DSLR's and menus are easy to follow. Well built and easy to carry.

Solid camera with a lot of creative possibilities

I've been Canon 5D shooter for the last 12 years or so. Decided to also have something small to keep with me all the time, saw this one in a store and it felt so nice to hold...I decided to do some research on it.

Wonderful little camera!

I have downgraded from a (little used, as I simply didn't carry it around with me) full frame dslr to this compact and am pleasantly surprised at the image quality in good light. There is a definite loss of detail in low light but I can't expect miracles from such a small package.

Easy To Use; Great Image Quality; Nice Features and Settings

Not Good In Low Light
