This is not my first camcorder, but my 3rd. Its Hi8 recording format beats my previous other VHS-C and 8mm gear. Its optical system (22X zoom and large lens), allowing night-time low lux shots, has a surprising level of quality for its price.

this is a good camcorder especially for the hi8s. only difficulty with the unit is the transfer you have to do to convert to dvd modern age. this is a great camera for any use.
