Canon EOS R8
The Canon EOS R8’s compact size and light weight make it very competitive in the enthusiast camera category, although the lack of adequate weatherproofing will be a disincentive to outdoor photographers.

Canon EOS R8 review: Punching above its weight
As one of the most affordable entry points into Canon's full-frame ecosystem, and one of the most compact and lightweight full-frame bodies on the market, the R8 is an appealing option. There are a few niggles - we'd love to have some more physical controls and IBIS, but the results are great.
Pros:
- Extremely compact and lightweight, Excellent full-frame sensor, Superb autofocus, Oversampled 4K60 with no crop, 40fps bursts with the electronic shutter
Cons:
- No joystick or rear dial, No IBIS, Relatively small battery

Canon EOS R8 Mirrorless Camera with RF 24-50mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM Lens - Brand New review
That is a very small list of niggles to be concerned with, and overall, the EOS R8 delivers a solid little camera with a full-frame sensor. Enthusiasts and pros alike, if you’re looking for a compact full-frame body, the EOS R8 is a winner.
Pros:
- Ease to use, Feels great in the hands, Full-frame sensor, Versatile controls, Vari-angle touch screen is a great inclusion, Support for 4K video
Cons:
- Can sometimes be slow, Doesn't charge on all Type C connections

Canon EOS R8
At times while reviewing it, I almost forgot that the Canon EOS R8 was an entry-level camera. With its full-frame sensor, generally excellent autofocus and 4K/60p video capabilities, it comes with a lot of features that, not too long ago, would be reserved for higher-end models.
Pros:
- Great photo and video quality, Lightweight, compact body, Excellent photography autofocus
Cons:
- No in-body image stabilisation, Short battery life, Recording time limitations
