Canon EOS R8 Review | Entry-Level Full-Frame Mirrorless Done Right?
All things considered, the Canon EOS R8 delivers the imagery Canon is known for. With its semi-professional sensor and autofocus system, you’ll love the results! Also, you’ll probably love just using the camera, too, especially if you’re a beginner who does a little bit of everything.

The Canon R8 is great for travel photography. It's relatively lightweight and portable for a full-frame camera. Its sensor captures very high-quality images, and this camera has a very effective autofocus system.
Pros:
- Excellent image quality., Lightweight and fairly portable., Fantastic autofocus.
Cons:
- Poor battery life., Somewhat cheap-feeling build quality.

Canon EOS R8
At times while reviewing it, I almost forgot that the Canon EOS R8 was an entry-level camera. With its full-frame sensor, generally excellent autofocus and 4K/60p video capabilities, it comes with a lot of features that, not too long ago, would be reserved for higher-end models.
Pros:
- Great photo and video quality, Lightweight, compact body, Excellent photography autofocus
Cons:
- No in-body image stabilisation, Short battery life, Recording time limitations

Canon EOS R8 review: the best full-frame camera for beginners?
The Canon EOS R8 is the lightest full-frame mirrorless camera that the photography stalwart offers, targeting existing DSLR users, content creators, and students wanting an affordable entry point into the Canon EOS R system.
Pros:
- Canon’s lightest full-frame camera, Detailed naturalistic images, Lightning-quick autofocus, User-friendly operation
Cons:
- Misses out on body integral image stabilisation, Lightweight body feels a tad insubstantial, So-so battery life
