Canon EOS M6
Canon have produced a highly functional camera in the new EOS M6. This entry level camera will take amazing pictures despite its non-extravagant look. It’s small, light (weighing in at a mere 390g) and is perfect for traveling, hiking and other slow-paced adventure sports. Here are some specifications to help you decide whether this is the camera for you.
The first feature worth mentioning is the 24.2MP function this camera delivers. The camera may not be the most glamorous, but the image quality is hard to beat for such an entry level device. The Canon EOS M6 also has a video recording capability, and your videos will reach up to 60p in full HD (7 frames per second).
To further assist the quality of your photos, anti-shaking software has been installed courtesy of 5-Axis Digital IS. You’ll also be happy to learn that Dual Pixel CMOS AF also forms part of your camera to ensure quick response on photos, and smooth recording for videos. Finally, there is also a built-in low-pass filter which will help you do some basic editing before you even move images to another device!
This camera also boasts WiFi & Bluetooth functions for easy sharing of your images. If you’re part of a community of photographers who come together to share, then this camera will serve you well in building photographer relationships.

Canon EOS M6 review
The Canon EOS M6 isn't quite specified up to the standard we'd expect for a camera with such a price tag, but it's a sound all-round performer and perfectly good choice for EOS M and EOS M10 users looking for something a little more powerful.- Plenty of direct control
- Compact and lightweight
- Very good autofocus system
- Great operational speeds
- Better build quality expected at this level
- No integrated viewfinder
- No 4K video recording
- No electronic shutter option
CANON EOS M6 Mirrorless Camera with EF-M 15-45 mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM Lens
- I had the original EOS M for years and despite it's painfully slow autofocus I loved it
- I've only had this a couple of weeks and it's such a step up
- Excellent build quality, the sensor is awesome and the autofocus is a massive leap forward
- A bit pricey compared to other manufacturers
Canon EOS M6 review
While I have some reservations about the EOS M6, it’s overall a very impressive camera – especially given its size. The Sony A6000 might be a bit quicker to focus and have that all-important viewfinder, while the Panasonic GX800 is cheaper and records 4K video, but Canon has made a camera that almost matches up to both. It might not be the best small CSC on the market, but I think it’s the best CSC Canon has made so far – and a sign that the company’s future mirrorless models might be a match for anything made by Sony, Panasonic, Olympus or Fujifilm. Buy the EOS M6 here from Canon- Genuinely compact size
- Strong all-round image quality
- Fast handling
- No viewfinder
- No 4K video
Canon EOS M6
Canon continues to develop its EOS M range of compact system cameras (CSC) through the EOS M6, a diminutive camera packed with the sort of features one would expect from a Canon DSLR.
If size is an ultimate priority, the M6 is a promising and powerful backup or second body for the established Canon shooter. It's the company's smallest camera to feature its latest 24MP APS-C sensor with Dual Pixel AF, the controls and touchscreen interface are a joy and many smaller EF (and -S)...
Canon EOS M6 Review
The EOS M6 is a great camera for existing Canon enthusiasts and casual videographers alike. The autofocus performance continues to impress, and though many of its direct competitors offer 4K video and some form of viewfinder, the EOS M6 is a well-built camera capable of very good image quality.- Those with an existing collection of Canon lenses, those who need ease of video shooting over outright video quality and who appreciate build quality and a polished user interface.
- Sports and action photographers, anyone requiring high resolution video.
Canon EOS M6 review: Canon's best mirrorless yet, but is that good enough?
The Canon take on the mirrorless camera market has been interesting: having lackadaisically introduced the M-series system in a bid to avoid undercutting its own DSLR business, it had taken Canon years to establish a more viable M-series camera. That happened in 2016 with the EOS M5 .- Small scale
- good build quality
- capable autofocus
- decent tilt-angle touchscreen control along with physical dials
- Expensive without bettering the competition
- lacks autofocus finery like its nearest competition
- no 4K video smarts
I have a Canon 5D4, which is a great camera. The main reason for me to also own an M-series is the small size. I want a camera that gives me great image quality, low-light response, speed, and the ability to use all of my lenses when needed, all in a small enough package that I can throw in a...
I sold my Canon 60D recently and have been looking for a new 2nd camera for a long time. I wanted a smaller and lighter camera. I often drag around several cameras and every gram counts. One of the requirements was a turntable on the back of the camera that you can adjust the aperture with.
