Through a mirrorless, darkly

Finally - after a slew of leaks and rumors - Canon's first mirrorless interchangeable lens camera has arrived with the Canon EOS-M . It's hard to believe 4 years have already passed since the introduction of the first mirrorless cameras, but Canon has joined to the party, more than fashionably late,...

Canon EOS M

The Canon EOS M is the very first compact system camera from Canon, who are the last major manufacturer to release a mirrorless model. Could you please advise if it's a good camera to take professional photos of the interiors (both large and detail pictures)? I have an old Canon Powershot but the photos are either to dark or to light, the colors look very bland and not as in reality. As a result the interior looks dull.

Canon's first compact system camera is deliberately aimed at the ‘cross over' user, but it's still packed solid with D-SLR features. Whatever Canon's reasons for waiting so long to launch its mirrorless interchangeable lens camera system, there's little doubt the strategy has worked in its favour.

Perhaps they considered this category as a no-go, but seeing the success of all these various brands they've finally come out with the EOS M. Are they too late, though? Will it really manage to impress? To find out, we tested out the li'l guy.

No. Canon's effort on the EOS M buttresses those frustrated users who believe that their beloved brand is focusing more on protecting their markets than they are on innovating. The M is just too safe and too boring in a time when other companies are pushing the envelope and offering more in almost...

We do not know whether it has been spurred by the competition or sheer market demand, but Canon has now plunged into the mirrorless DSLR camera segment. And their first salvo in this category is the EOS M, a sleek camera that frankly is a bit expensive but does deliver crisp shots.
