Canon EOS M Review

It was late on the scene but its arrival still surprised many. After all, it is four years since Panasonic...

Overall extremely happy with the Canon EOS M

This is our first good camera. Previously only used small digital cameras. It is easy to use, and the quality of the pictures are fantastic. I say excellent value for Money. It is quite compact so we are taking everywhere and the Auto settings mean we can just point and shoot with great results.

Easy to use; Compact; Build quality; Battery life; Screen size

Canon EOS M

I liked the Canon EOS M more than I expected -- but less than I should have. It's got a compact, well-built and well-designed metal body, and a responsive touch screen with a streamlined interface, and it delivers the photo quality you expect from this class of camera.

With a very nice touch screen; a well-designed body; and excellent photo quality; the Canon EOS M has some attractive qualities

Seriously poor autofocus performance and battery life detract from the overall package

*Almost* a great mirrorless camera

Being a long time Canon user I bought this second hand in excellent condition for a ridiculously good price ($[*] Australian including both lenses and flash) as a 'walk about' digital camera with good technical image quality (my 5D Mk II and lenses are a bit over the top at times).

Consistent Output; Durable; Easily Interchangeable; Lightweight; Strong Construction

No Electronic Viewfinder; Slow Focus; Touchscreen Sensitivity

Canon EOS M review

Canon has left it late in the day to release its first compact system camera: the EOS M. While other manufacturers have had a few years' head start, Canon has had the advantage of watching its competitors and the reactions of customers.

Canon's first compact system camera is deliberately aimed at the ‘cross over' user, but it's still packed solid with D-SLR features. Whatever Canon's reasons for waiting so long to launch its mirrorless interchangeable lens camera system, there's little doubt the strategy has worked in its favour.

Good One But Grip not that much

Good one for photography. But not good grip. I am not camera expert but need to learn more with character focusing in video, because I brought it only for videos.

It is not as I expected

I have used this camera for 2 weeks. The BAD 1) This camera has little grip , with the jacket you can have a better grip but you will end up taking out the jacket and recharge the camera.
