Canon EOS 7D: huge megapixel count but let down by high iso noise

The d800 is topping the charts with megapixel counts but the 7d (and in fact all of canon's current crop sensor cameras) are sporting a higher resolution, or 'pixels per inch' because 36mp full frame cropped down to a aps-c actually has a higher pixel density- this provides tremendous detail at low...

Slightly Flawed

Mine was bought early last year, so this review isn't one of those that gets dashed off ten minutes after the box was opened. This is a camera that needs to be learned to get the best from it - all that customisation and sophisticated AF system really needs either earlier experience or else some...

Amazing Camera!

I agonized over purchasing either the 7d or 5d markii for a long time. I eventually chose the 7d to replace my 1d markii and xsi. For one thing, I could keep my Canon 17-55mm f2.8 and I don't have to purchase something wider than my 50mm f1.4. I still have 8 frames per second.

Canon 7D

I have a 7D and really love it. It is a sturdy entry level camera for serious photo enthusiasts. So glad QVC has stepped up their Canon line of cameras and "luxury lens.

Fantastic Camera

I originally bought this camera for stills, but I eventually moved into film and now I use this camera 90% for filming. This camera has never failed me, battery life is great when taking photos. Only complaints I have would be that noise past 3200 makes the image unusable.

good battery life; quiet; Quick Start-up time; excellent image quality; Superior build quality; Bright LCD; Solid Operation; easy to use

Canon 7D Camera - A Step Above the Rest

I had had several year experience with an entry level DSLR before I bought the Canon 7D. I like trying new things with cameras and I had got as far as I could with my old camera. I have now had my 7D for 2 years and have still not gone through all of what it is capable.

Easy to use and set up; Lots of features to help make your photographic experience rewarding

Performance at high ISO settings can be disappointing at times

The Pro APS-C Camera

Canon EOS 7D Breaks Record, the 7D was chosen for the world's largest photo, a view of London from the BT Tower in incredible detail. It feels so good to know that your camera has been chosen to take the largest photo in the world; it is a great feeling of intense accomplishment.

8 fps; Custom Settings; Easy To Use; Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus; Fast Shutter Speed; Good Image Quality; High ISO Performance; Large Clear LCD; Quiet

quality for what should be years to come.

I absolutely love my camera so far. I was willing to get a heavier camera in exchange for tons of features. This is a heavy camera, but that is what i expected and wanted. Canon makes other similar cameras (same sensor, other identical components) but i decided on the 7d for because it doesn't feel...

one of the best crop sensor SLRs

The 7D is one of the best crop sensor DSLRs. To get the most out of it you will need top quality lenses. Highly recommended.
