Canon's 7D DSLR Makes Serious Power Its Focus

In spite of that shortcoming, the 7D is an outstanding shooter on nearly every level. So, if you don't need - or want - to spring for a full-frame DSLR, but want a tough, easy-to-use and ridiculously customizable camera that makes pro-quality images at an affordable price, then you'd be silly not to...

Solid build and weatherproofing with pro-style feel in hand; Frame rate is sport-shooter ready; Wireless control of external Speedlite flashes.

Noisy pop-up flash motor; Quick-control dial on the back of the camera takes more effort to turn than previous Canon models.

Canon EOS 7D

Review Your possible reason for buying this camera may have changed fairly recently. The EOS 7D would have been the only way to get 'standard' and 'film' frame rates from a Canon DSLR product in HD, but no more.

Canon's EOS 7D digital SLR is designed for users who want fast shooting performance. That means sports photographers, nature photographers, and basically anyone who needs to freeze-frame a fast-moving subject.

Fast burst mode; solid body; versatile focusing modes; very good high ISO performance

Focusing wasn't always accurate; could use more accessible focus controls

Canon EOS 7D

The Canon EOS 7D is Canon's top of the range APS-C camera. Below it sit the compact forms of the EOS 1100D , EOS 600D and EOS 60D and above it the full-frame glory of the £200 more expensive EOS 5D MKII .

Build quality; Video footage; Continuous shooting mode; High-ISO image quality; Great viewfinder

Hard on memory cards; Unimpressive kit lens

Canon EOS 7D

The $1,699 (list, body only) 18-megapixel Canon EOS 7D takes beautiful pictures-in a wide variety of lighting situations. But the true lure of the Canon 7D is that it's the only sub-$2,000 D-SLR that offers a multitude of high-definition video-capture options.

Excellent still-image and HD-video quality; Fast performance.

Pricey; Video recording is not as simple as with a dedicated camcorder

The 7D is one of those things you'll buy and never ever regret, I was genuine about buying and the staff gave me an awesome deal (better than everyone) I'm so happy with it all I strongly recommend the replacement warranty, it a peace of mind.

Canon EOS 7D review

At last, it appears Canon has raised its game, in response to Nikon, and introducing a new breed of camera, the EOS 7D.

With the release of the 7D, Canon hasn't so much updated any of its existing cameras as carved out a new niche, creating what the company describes as an "all-rounder" that ostensibly targets the prosumer sports-orientated shooter.
