Perfect All-Round Camera

Upgrade from my Canon Rebel T1i. I love, love, love this camera. The high ISO and fast shutter speed are amazing. I'll never be a pro but the 7D inspires me to keep trying.

Awesome Camera Canon 7D

This is a superb camera and great value for the money. With a superior focus system and the duel processors you won't be disappointed. Ideal for action sports and wildlife plus portrait work. Deserves serious consideration.

Canon EOS 7D DSLR camera review

Well made, quickly intuitive to use, fleet-of-foot across most performance measures and able to produce stunning results, even at high sensitivity settings, all means the Canon EOS 7D is both a cleverly realised combination of professional specification and semi-professional pricing.

Build; image quality; viewfinder; performance and speed; AF; flash control; HD video; ergonomics; LCD

Looks pricey; purple fringing on some high contrast shots with 18-135mm kit lens

Canon EOS 7D

While the Nikon D7000 has two memory card slots that are extremely convenient for overflow shots, backups and more, the Canon EOS 7D has just one. However, like pro-spec cameras, the 7D uses faster Compact Flash (CF) cards; the Nikon uses Secure Digital (SD) cards like other $1,000-and-under models.

Great image quality; Pro-grade speed and features; All-metal and weather-sealed

No continuous autofocus in movie mode; Only one card slot

Canon EOS 7D Digital Camera Review

Overall, the Canon 7D should be considered, pound for pound and value for money, one of the best DSLR's on the market. Combining such a high-resolution with a frame-rate action photographers would die for, all without compromising its low-light performance, to any noticeable degree, is a major...

If you can justify the price tag it's hard to fault Canon's new APS-C flagship. With class-leading image quality, fast operation and excellent handling the EOS 7D is everything a semi-pro model should be, and the excellent movie mode will be a welcome bonus to those that like their pictures to move.

Class-leading detail and resolution at base ISO; good per-pixel sharpness; Very good low-light performance; low noise levels and good retention of detail; 8 frames per second continuous shooting speed; Thanks to Dual Digic 4 processors very quick and responsive performance; Excellent build quality

Unreliable white balance under artificial lighting; Slight tendency to overexpose in contrasty conditions; Occasional jagged lines in 720p video; No built-in AF illuminator

Very low image noise; Excellent sharpness; ISO range entirely usable; up to 1600 for large prints; Super-fast autofocus speed and tacking; No shutter lag and great shot-to-shot speeds; Quick and responsive; Large 100% coverage viewfinder; 2-Axis digital level; Full choice of exposure modes for

Frequent overexposure; Poor color accuracy; Poor white-balance; both auto and preset under artificial light; Slower than average instant review speed; Slow to power-off due to sensor cleaning; LCD too bright; Several interface oddities
