Canon EOS 6D
In some respects, it's hard to tell who Canon's targeting with the EOS 6D, its "budget" full-frame camera. It's got some fairly consumer-y features and specifications. GPS? Check. Built-in Wi-Fi? Check. Single SD card slot? Check. Viewfinder with less than 100 percent coverage? Check.
Pros:
- The Canon EOS 6D delivers the photo and video quality you expect from a full-frame sensor
- in a well-designed and relatively lightweight body
Cons:
- While the camera has nice extra features
- like Wi-Fi and GPS support
- it's missing some basics for the price like on-camera flash
- multiple card slots
- and a 100 percent-coverage viewfinder

This makes the Canon EOS 6D a more versatile, customisable option than the Canon EOS 60D for sports photographers – although the maximum continuous shooting rate is only 4.5fps. There's an interesting option in the Playback menu that enables you to create a photobook direct from the camera.

Released at the same time as Nikon's D600, the 6D is extremely similar in price, features and handling. The 20.2MP sensor produces stunning image quality, and the high-res 3in screen and better ISO response both outperform its Nikon counterpart.

Canon EOS 6D review
Full-frame photography has got a lot more interesting in the last 12 months, especially for people whose next camera isn't a business expense. The Canon EOS 5D Mark III , Nikon D800 and Sony Alpha A99 all helped to redefine what an entry-level full-frame SLR was capable of.

Prior to the announcement of the Canon EOS 6D ($2,099 direct, body only) and the Nikon D600 , shooters who wanted a full-frame camera -one with an image sensor the same size as a 35mm film frame-were faced with a small number of choices at $3,000 and up.
Pros:

Cons:
- Not the fastest camera on the block
- Viewfinder only offers 97 percent coverage
- Not compatible with EF-S lenses
- GPS saps battery life
- No flash
- Slow focus during video recording
- No PC Sync socket

Pros:
- Canon's cheapest full frame sensor DSLR for those amateurs after optimum results from the 35mm format
- solid feel build yet manageable handling
- on-board wireless transfer of images and the ability to control the camera remotely via iPad
- built-in GPS image tagging
Cons:
- Size and bulk will still mark you out as a professional so not the best option for candid street photography
- expensive if you won't feel the benefit of that full frame sensor
