Who said low light is not possible with 5DS

Use a quality tripod and you will get amazing results in low light. ISO 500, F2.8 , .5sec, 70-210 L lens This camera is now my preferred for landscape picture taking over my Canon 5D Mark III.

Canon's 5D line of DSLRs has been an important one, bridging the gap between professional and amateur photography, giving enthusiasts an affordable route to full-frame shooting and pros a smaller, lighter camera to back-up their fully professional-level model.

Full frame sensor; huge detail; Excellent AF; exposure and white balance; Extensive features and accessories

Huge file sizes; Fast shutter speeds or a sturdy tripod and mirror lock-up essential to get the best from the sensor; No Wi-Fi built-in

A great camera.

I've been using a 5DSR for a few months now and I honestly love it. There are downsides. It's insanely expensive. The closeness of the pixels in the sensor mean that it sometimes can't capture movement, such as hair on a portrait subject in a breeze, whereas a 5D mark iii wouldn't struggle at all to...

Canon 5DS R

Nice solid built camera. The 50MP sensor lets you do a lot of cropping and still have great results. Battery doesn't last as long as it did in my 6D and the ISO range is not as good as my 6D either. However the big file size is what I really wanted - the other issues I can deal with.

It could be a perfect DSLR, but it's disappointing

I've been a Canon user for the past decade, I've switched a lot of bodies and finally I've sold my back-up 6D (because of its rubbish AF system) which I bought almost 5 years ago and only kept the 5Ds which I bought 3 years ago.

canon 5D S

The images produced by this camera contain an amazing amount of detail, when used for macro you can crop into a small area and produce a picture with stunning detail

Bright LCD; Fast Shutter Speed; Great Image Quality; Strong Construction

Exposed LCD

Canon EOS 5DS review

If you're already a 5D Mark III owner and are thinking of making the leap to the 5DS, it should be an extremely easy transition. You'll need to give a bit of thought as to how those extra pixels affect the way you capture images, but otherwise this is easy stuff.

Top notch image quality; Improved build to reduce vibrations; Swift and accurate focusing

Maximum 12,800 ISO; The 5D Mark III is better for video

Fabulous camera, I love it!

I am a landscape photographer and I love to take pano shots. My best one so far was from a pylon on the Sydney Harbour Bridge where using my 5Ds I took a 7 pic pano and blended it in Photoshop, and the perfect result now hangs on the wall, 2.8m long and 60cm high, and not a single glitch of any...

Although I only need about 24-28 megapixels for most of my work, I succumbed to temptation after seeing the 5DS for sale at GBP1880 as a grey import. I've only had it a few days but I've taken a lot of test shots to establish the usable ISO range, and to calibrate the AF micro-adjust, picture style...
