The Myth of DPI
Dpi has nothing to do with image resolution. Dpi is a specification that we input in the file info that is relevant to a printer when a physical copy is to be printed. What matters is "X pixels by Y pixels" when it comes to sharpness of the image.

Canon EOS 5D Mark III review: Serious piece of kit, but comes at a serious price
Not everyone will be able to afford a 5D Mark III, but if you're serious about movie making on a budget then this is a serious piece of kit via which to do it Not a camcorder, but included because Digital SLRs have really taken off the past couple of years as primary tools for ‘videographers'.
Pros:
- Setting a new benchmark for amateur and independent film makers
- affordable alternative to pro broadcast cameras
- rock solid workhorse-like build
Cons:
- Pricey if you don't require broadcast quality video
- slight delay whilst mirror mechanism flips out of the way before video recording can commence
- clip duration limited to just under 30 minutes as it's a camera not a camcorder

Canon Eos 5D Mark Iii 22.3 Megapixel Digital Slr Camera Body Only - Black
A little overpriced for the meager upgrades in this camera. Nothing extraordinary-- just a revised 5D with some less-then-new Canon upgrades. Not the most exciting purchase if you already own the Mark II.
Pros:
- Silent ing mode
- upgraded ISO levels
- redesigned button layout
Cons:
- Terrible focus on the outer focus points when using fast primes at 50mm or wider (very poor on the 50L)
- Will constantly front focus, it's a known problem that makes the new autofocus system useless for wedding photographers
- Works great for telephoto lenses

Canon EOS 5D Mark III DSLR Review
Superb imaging and fleshed out audio control makes the 5D Mark III a worthy successor to the camera that forever changed the landscape of video production.
Pros:
- Manual audio gain control
- Headphone jack
- Superb low-light performance
- 30-minute maximum record time
- Improved rolling shutter
Cons:
- No uncompressed video out
- Sluggish autofocus in live-view mode

The best video DSLR so far
I only use the camera for video and were using a 7D for the last two years. <br /><br />The 5mk3 is the perfect update for 7D and 5d mk2, adds an even better ISO performance (which isan incredible difference compared to the 7D!!

The best video DSLR so far
I only use the camera for video and were using a 7D for the last two years. The 5mk3 is the perfect update for 7D and 5d mk2, adds an even better ISO performance (which isan incredible difference compared to the 7D!!), reduceded moire, 30min recording, manual audio + audio/headphone out....

The Canon EOS 5D Mark III is not only a very capable photographic tool in almost all areas, it's also fun and exciting to shoot with. Slight JPEG softness is disappointing in a camera at this level but it's only visible at pixel-level and we would expect most of the camera's target group to shoot...
Pros:
- Good resolution and detail in raw files
- Good color and tonality across the ISO range
- Reliable metering even in difficult contrast situations
- Very responsive and snappy operation

- 6 frames per second continuous shooting with good buffering

- Destructive noise reduction results in mushy JPEGs
