Canon has long catered well for the entry-level digital SLR market. Canon's EOS 300D was the first digital SLR available for under £1000 and as technology has advanced, its cameras aimed at this market have been made cheaper and more compact, whilst still sporting a decent array of features.

i bought this camera using money i had been given as graduation present, im new to the world of slr but thats ok because stick it on auto and away you go, and as i get more used to it i can start exploring the manual settings... cant wait!

The 1100D can also shoot at a handy 3fps useful for capturing everyone looking and smiling in a big group of family members or for capturing a fast moment without the possibility of potentially missing the shot.

nice camera- at low light can be a handful- a little twitting and pictures come to life. the lens are a little pricey .canon has the best lens out there. setting can take a bit to get used to. as a starter, this camera works for me. a big update to my last camera.

Good for indoor out door photos. Has flash attachment. Battery indicator. Focus lens. close up features.

I like the ease in which to use the special feature knob.I also like the ease of downloading of pictures from the camera to the printer or computer and printing pctures as I select which them.

The camera information displayed on the rear screen is very helpful when shooting a special shot.

After using the camera it is hard to find a weakness

This camera isn't very sensitive to shaking, which is good because my hands are the exact opposite of steady! Both lenses perform brilliantly and battery life is pretty good. And it's a good price for amateur photographers/film makers!

Excellent camera for someone just starting out with DSLR and who wants to start taking better images. The real treat in this camera is the ease of use. It gives you an easy transition from simple point and shoots or even if you're just picking up a camera for the first time.

Missing features/settings

I bought this camera last week from DickSmith. It is an AWESOME entry level camera. You quickly learn how to use it, and within hours your taking brilliant quality pics. I would however recommend buying the twin kit (2 lens), as you'll find to buy the second lens is a lil over priced when not in the...
