pretty good

This was the kit lens I got with my 60D. I loved it at first but after a few months started to be unimpressed with its sharpness. It is not a bad lens just not great. I would have been disappointed if I paid retail price for it.
Pros:
  • Great zoom range, multi purpose lens
  • will do most anything a beginner photographer would want to do
Cons:
  • zoom creeps really really bad I have to keep my hand on the zoom ring to stop it from moving while shooting
  • May be my lens though as it has got a lot looser since I first started using it
  • If I point it at the ground it falls down to about 170mm
  • quite soft, can be slow to focus in lower light

Awesome.

Great lens, awesome Wide Angle & Zoom! Perfect all round lens. Smifu is definitely the cheapest place by far as I did tons of research before I brought it. It also got delivered in 48hours!

I would buy this product again and again

I love this lens, it is sharp, fast focus and accurate. The best lens ever if we comparative it with Tamron and Sigma. If you are looking for one lens for all purpose this is it. I am very satisfied with this lens.
Pros:
  • Fast / accurate auto-focus
  • Nice Bokeh
  • Sharp
Cons:
  • NONE

Got this lens, because I needed a wider zoom range offered with standard lens, and rather pay for the std lens and buy separate zoom lens, decided to save money and just buy camera body and this lens.

Mid-priced telephoto lens

Bought this to replace a 75-300 lens that came in the kit. Old lens does not have image stabilization. New lens does and works excellently for my needs. I would recommend to any casual photographer.
