Got this lens, because I needed a wider zoom range offered with standard lens, and rather pay for the std lens and buy separate zoom lens, decided to save money and just buy camera body and this lens.

Exactly as advertised

The focal range of this lenses is perfect for the types of photos that I take from sports to wild life. It is very fast to focus and easy to adjust the zoom on the lense.I feel for the money it is one of my better lense purchases.

Mid-priced telephoto lens

Bought this to replace a 75-300 lens that came in the kit. Old lens does not have image stabilization. New lens does and works excellently for my needs. I would recommend to any casual photographer.

Two lenses to ONE

This is a great lens to replace BOTH a regular 18-55mm and a zoom 75-300mm... If you want to carry just one on your trips, no doubt, its the way to go. Take terrific shots!!

Love this lens

Love this lens I used it for 1 year now and it still works like new. The zoom lock feature and the placement of the switch is a very well thought out design feature. cons: it is a little on the heavy side. But balances well with any body.

Convenient Telephoto Power

Perfect lens for us! We needed a telephoto lens that was simple to use and also took great shots at the closer range, since we hate switching lenses. The bonus feature is auto-stabilization--absolutely saved many shots that we could not have captured otherwise, lacking a tripod. We love this lens!
Pros:
  • Beautiful, smooth operations
  • Logical button/switch placement
  • Trouble-free lens swapping (if you have to--we did only rarely).
Cons:
  • At the closest range, it is not a super-wide angle lens
  • Just normal, same as the stock lens that came with my Rebel T1 kit.

A Great "Do-It-All Lense"

Its been almost 1 year since I have been using this lense. Its been an amazing experience. Canon 18-200 Lens

This lens gives me excellent color and sharpness with my T4i,60D, and 70D bodies. It focuses fast and eliminates lens changing. It is made very well and has ample body and weight to it as well as having a metal mount. I highly recommend a Tiffen UV filter to protect the len's glass.
