Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS

The Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS ($499.99 direct)  isn't the newest lens on the block, but it's still around despite a newer version being available. The newer lens is the Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM -it's $50 more, and its STM motor delivers smoother video focus when used with a...

Not worth the money

I have owned a Canon EF-S 18-135 for 18 months. I would categorize this lens as "adequate" as a kit lens, but not worth purchasing separately. The build quality is reasonably good but not great, and the image stabilization very good, but unfortunately the other features are limited and the optical...

returned for replacement

Camera lens auto focus broke within one week and you could hear grating/rattling from lens. Returned lens for replacement and I'm waiting for a new one to arrive soon. Worked great until it broke down though...

Easily Interchangeable; Fast / accurate auto-focus

Long term use

I purchased this lens with a 7D. I found it to be a great range, as I did not use the 10-24 a lot even while shooting scenery in Alaska for the summer. However, I am now faced with a large repair or replacement cost, as it does not focus smoothly and will change the zoom range when focusing.

Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS - Review / Lab Test Report

The build quality of the Canon lens is slightly better compared to the typical low-end/"budget" class zoom lenses by Canon. The plastic quality is quite decent and the lens feels pretty "tight" in terms of build tolerances. The mount is made of metal.

Great versatile lens

I purchased this lens with my new Canon 80D. I have find it to be my "go to" for most of my photography! My first assignment was photographing our local rodeo! I was amazed at the quality and crisp images! I am traveling to Europe and I plan on using this as my primary lens!

Lens Test: Canon EF-S 18-135MM F/3.5-5.6 IS AF

Bundled often as a kit with the Canon EOS 7D and 50D, this APS-C format zoom ($450, street) is for shooters who want more than a bare-bones 18–55mm kit lens without paying $575 (street) for the extra reach of Canon's 18–200mm IS superzoom.

Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens Review

The Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens is designed as a step up from the standard-at-review-time 18-55mm IS kit lens. The 18-135's most attractive features are a wide (7.5x) focal length range , a low price , a relatively light weight/small package, and a very nice IS (Image Stabilization)...
