A great lens that suits a wide range of indoor and outdoor uses.
A great lens. I bought this as a carry-around lens for general use on my EOS 550D. It easily outperforms the kit lenses, has a very handy range from quite wide to slightly zoomed, and is excellent in low light.
Worth every penny !!!
This is an amazing lens! Absolutely love it. Using as a "walk about " lens and love the extra at the wide angle end from my previous 18mm. Quick to focus and photos are clear, sharp,& colors vibrant. As close to an "L" lens you can get.- Consistent Output
- Easily Interchangeable
- Fast / accurate auto-focus
- Nice Bokeh
- Strong Construction
Great Lens! Great Value!
This lens has definitely made a difference in my ability to capture tack sharp images while being handheld. Love the focal range and the minimum focusing distance is adequate for most flower photography that is not micro.- Consistent Output
- Easily Interchangeable
- Fast / accurate auto-focus
- Nice Bokeh
- Strong Construction
Awesome, versatile, quality lens for many different types of photography!
I purchased this lens as a replacement for the 18-55mm kit lens that came with my T3i. I was looking for a good "walkaround" lens, and this fit the bill perfectly! The lens feels very solid..
best carry around lens for canon
Bought this to replace my 18-55mm kit lens for my canon 550d... awesome diwali offer from flipkart and got it at 12000 rs off for 46k. This is a near L quality carry around lens for canon crop sensors, covers a good range even at the wider end, awesome focussing with USM motor and ful time manual...
excellent carry-around lens
The lens appears brand new and I assume it is, but it was not in Canon packaging, so appears to be a 'gray-market' lens. That also accounts for why its price was significantly less than is commonly listed for this lens.
Worth the price - Amazing sharpness - 15-85 mm lens
I was using a Tamron 18-270 lens as a walk around lens but was not satisfied with quality of the pictures. Sold the Tamron lens and got this one and have been using it for 4 months. As other canon lenses, it captures very sharp pictures and colors are very accurate. Focus is quick due to USM.
My favorite lens
This lens spends the most time on my 70D due to its versatility and overall IQ. I got the 18-135 STM with the 70D but subjectively I think this lens produces better quality. I take this, the 10-22, and 70-200 f/4L IS (and 1.4x TC) in my bag to cover the gamut of focal lengths I'm most interested in...
Excellent non-L Canon lens
Excellent optics for a non-L lens. I recommend this at the main "walkaround" lens for crop-sensor Canon dSLRs. It's on my 60D or 80D for 90% of shots.
Almost an L lens
EF-S lenses get a bad rap in my opinion. Because they are specifically designed for the APS-C format they can be made smaller and lighter and that makes them a lot cheaper. The does not mean that they are optically inferior, as born out by the 15-85mm.
