This is a very good lens. I just opened it yesterday and I won't go as far as to say I am thrilled, but I am very encouraged. The first thing that strikes you about the lens is the build quality.
Pros:
- Fast
- accurate focus
- Best built EF-S lens to date
- No lens creep - YEAH
- Center sharpness
- Its aesthetically a good looking lens
- Very useful zoom range
- CAs seem to be well controlled
Cons:
- Only 3.5 at its widest and drops to 5.6 as you zoom
- Wish it were 2.8 for most of the range, but I tend to think the cost would have been prohibitive for an EF-S lens, If you use the lens indoors and want fast photos, you'll need a flash, you'll need a hot shoe flash to minimize the vignetting at...

Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM
A 5.6x standard zoom for Canon EF-S compatible cameras, which provides an angle of view equivalent to a 24-136mm lens on a 35mm camera, plus a 4-stop image stabiliser.
Cons:
- Distortion
- Vignetting at 15mm
- Flare and ghosting performance (no lens hood supplied

Best lens I own
This combo of 15 to 85 is great. It's only f 3.5 but what do you expect for a 15-85 with everything else? Manual focus is easy and slips once you hit the stops but you feel it.
Pros:
- 15 to 85 is perfect for me
- It's also macro up to 1.2'
- Has IS (image stabilizer) and ultrasonic focus motor
- AND it's a Canon lens which IMHO are great quality
Cons:
- It's a bit heavy for my T2i Canon body so the balance is a bit off but when I put it on my old 10D, it's nicely balanced
- Cost as much as the T2i body
- Not enough cons to loose an egg

Love this Lens
I bought this lens to replace the kit lens that came with my camera. It provides consistently sharp images. It focuses quietly and quickly. While it is somewhat heavy, it is well worth the trade off for the images it captures.
Pros:
- Consistent Output
- Fast / accurate auto-focus
- Strong Construction
Cons:
- Heavy

Canon EF-S 15-85mm f3.5-5.6 IS USM
It's not easy deciding on the best lenses to get for your EOS SLR, and Canon's just made it that much harder. This brand new 15-85mm is a high-spec, high-quality ‘standard' zoom for EF-S format Canons – they're the ones which aren't full-frame, and include the EOS 1000D, 450D, 500D, 50D and the new...

Good but not Great
I've had the lens for 3 weeks and run a few tests. I've determined that the lens doesn't perform any better in low light then the Canon 18-135mm. In normal light the photos are sharper but the difference wasn't as significant as I expected when viewed at less then 100%.
Pros:
- Durable
- Easily Interchangeable
- Full Time Manual Focus
- Nice Bokeh
- Strong Construction
Cons:
- Poor in Low Light

Very Good Choice for crop
I purchased this lens 4 years ago, when I first got started on DSLR photography. At the time I did not fully appreciate the lenses options and abilities. Now that I am more experienced all I can say is that this lens provides overall excellent image quali

Great Lens, Fantastic Build Quality
I was looking for a lens with a slightly more reach than the stock 18-55mm that came with the T5i; I mainly was looking for a nice walk-about lens that could handle the majority of situations.
