The Canon EF-S 10-22/3.5-4.5 is a very good lens. There is a little corner softness wide open at 10mm, but overall the image quality is excellent. Those who claim that this lens shows "L" quality performance may not be wrong.
Its optical quality is everything what you can expect from good wide-angle zoom (very few CA@wide-opened, reasonable distortions, sharp etc) I have used this lens with 20D for crowd shots in busy exhibition shows and general views and I can only praise the AF speed, accuracy.

This lens is superb. I own a 40D and needed a wider angle lens than my 24-105 delivered. Vistek as well had it to me within 24hours. This is my third item from Vistek and the service is excellent.
In typical cheapskate fashion, at least when it comes to lens hoods, Canon doesn't supply one with this lens, which when added takes the overall price to about ￡500. For that, you'll get a solid, full-frame lens that seems to work equally well on smaller sensor cameras such as the EOS 400D.

This was the 3rd lens I purchased after the kit lens. It is the widest lens you can get other than a fisheye(that is made by canon). Sigma make a cheaper one(10-20mm), but I'm really glad I went for the canon, the extra 2mm comes in really handy, it has made all the difference in some instances and...

I have had this lens for few months now and in a word I would say WOW about this lens. I use this lens on my Canon 7D for landscape, architectural shots. This is an ultra wide angle lens that is incredible.
The lens has a very fast and near silent ring-type USM (ultrasonic) AF drive which provides full-time manual focusing in one-shot AF mode. The AF accuracy was spot on during the tests.
I love how wide the lens is and gets the entire scene into the shot. I love taking it out with me rock climbing and getting the entire beautiful picture instead of having to do a panaramic picture.
