Canon EF-M 32mm f/1.4 STM Lens EFM32F14STM review

Whether capturing photos of easily startled wildlife or recording a wedding ceremony, the EF-M 32mm f/1.4 STM helps minimize noise that may disrupt a momentous scene. By using a lead screw-type stepping motor (STM), it helps facilitate fast autofocusing and near-silent operation while recording...

Quality Lens

I received this lens earlier than expected, well packed and in perfect condition. Attaching it to my Canon EOS M6, everything seems to work. I took a few test shots (pictured) of autumn leaves, the shopping centre clock, and the club house.

An Awesome Lens

I have several EF-M lenses. I'd rather use them for my M50 than an adapted EF or EF-S lens, which totally defeats the small form factor of these little mirrorless camera bodies. The EF-M is bright, fast, and tack sharp.

Pretty close to L

This is not a Zeiss on a 5DSR but the sharpness and rendition gives it a definite L series quality. Probably not weather sealed but neither is the M6. Metal mount like the 18-55mm with a solid construction feel. For less than $500, this lens is a bargain for the build and results.

Rivals the best!

I have down-sized from full-frame DSLRs with L glass to an M50 with the kit lenses and this 32mm f/1.4. Naturally the kits lenses, although quite good, left me wanting more especially in low light situations and AF speed.

Canon EF-M 32mm f/1.4 STM Lens EFM32F14STM review

The Canon EF-M 32mm F1.4 is a compact and powerful standard lens for Canon's APS-C format mirrorless cameras. Sharpness is excellent, and out of focus areas are rendered very nicely.

Portraits and low-light imaging; where sharpness and bokeh matter.

High-contrast shooting situations at wide apertures; where colored fringing caused by longitudinal chromatic aberration can occasionally be an issue.

Only noticeable longitudinal chromatic aberration at wide apertures takes the shine off an otherwise excellent performance.

Canon EF-M 32mm f1.4 STM review

The Canon EF-M 32mm f1.4 STM is a standard prime lens for the EOS M mirrorless system, delivering 51mm equivalent coverage coupled with a fast focal ratio that's ideal for shallow depth-of-field effects.

Canon EF-M 32mm F/1.4 STM

Canon launched its latest EF-M lens, the 32mm, back in September 2018. It is designed to be used on the company's M series of compact system cameras, such as the EOS M50. As the M series uses APS-C sized sensors, the Canon EF-M 32MM F/1.4 STM equates to just over 50mm (and f/2.2) when attached to a...

Canon EF-M 32mm f/1.4 STM Lens Review

Marketing's job is to make a big deal out of their company's products and Canon definitely made a big deal at the Canon EF-M 32mm f/1.4 STM Lens' unveiling. However, the other products announced, including the Canon EOS R , heavily overshadowed this one.
