Canon's top of the line fisheye lens !

Fantastic lens. Well worth the money . Even better if you find a used one here on Amazon like I did. Takes great, crisp photos and is very fun to use. The best thing about this fisheye is that it offers both zoom and auto focus- both are features that are not available on most fisheyes.

Canon EF 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye USM Lens

I bought this lens recently, for shooting landscapes and architecture. It is tack sharp, and focuses very fast. I does vignette a lot (enough to see the inside of the lens hood) at 8mm on my 1Ds MKII. BUT...that`s not entirely a bad thing, because it could be used to make some creative photos.

Here's (another) update after having used this lens for almost 2 1/2 years. This is one lens I always try to take with me just in case an opportunity presents itself. I have examples of this lens on a FF here:http://www.pbase.com/pegsam/fisheyeShooting at 8 mm is pretty straightforward and it does...
Pros:
  • More versatile than I originally imagined
Cons:
  • Lens hood
  • some chromatic aberration at the edge

Canon EF 8-15mm f4L Fisheye USM

The Canon EF 8-15mm Fisheye zoom is a unique lens and one for which anticipation has been steadily building since its original announcement back in August 2010. Now one year on, the lens has finally hit the stores and I've had a chance to see what all the fuss is about in my review.
Pros:
  • 180 degree diagonal fisheye for all Canon DSLRs
  • 180 degree circular fisheye for full-frame DSLRs
  • Tough build with weatherproofing
  • Optically sharp across the entire imaging circle
Cons:
  • Vulnerable-looking front element
  • Lens cap easily comes loose
  • Chromatic aberrations in areas of high contrast
  • Full circular fisheye only available to full-frame

Canon EF 8-15mm f/4 USM L Fisheye - Review / Test Report

The Canon EF 8-15mm f/4 USM L Fisheye is a more than welcome addition to the Canon lens lineup. The combination of circular and full frame fish-eye in a single lens is a unique offering in the market. It is also capable of delivering technically decent results.

Canon EF 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye USM review

Although cheaper, lighter lenses are now designed purely for these smaller sensors, professional lenses are still designed for full-frame use. It is rare, however, that both formats are considered, as it is difficult to satisfy both from one lens without overly inflating the cost or sacrificing the...
