Can't be beat in this price range!
When looking for a quality lense for a name brand camera, as a hobby photographer, everything usually breaks down into two groups: Lenses intended for professional or career photographers that cost more than you are willing to pay. Specialty lenses that have a more limited use but fit your budget.

Very fine lens!

Excellent product
After taking a wide varity of pictures using this lens, I am very impressed with the quality of the images. Excellent sharpness throughout the image. The autofocus is fast and quiet, adjusting the zoom is easy. I am very pleased with this lens.<br /><br />Thanks Meijer!

Zoom, zoom...
This lens is like the 50mm 1.8--you need to have it in your case now and perhaps forever—until you have a lot more money, these are the lenses you're going to use all the time. The kit lens also falls into this category.

I picked this lens up for its range. I use it on a T2i. I'm more of a wide-angle guy so I just wanted this lens for when the urge struck me to take pictures of birds and far away things.
