overall good lens
I love this lens. The bokeh is nice and the zoom distance is great. My only issue is that when zoomed all the way max the focus is not as sharp as I would like.

Great Lens!
This lens is highly versatile and rarely requires me to change lenses. It is a genuine Canon lens with the packaging you would expect to receive if buying the same product in Australia.

It's just a joy to use, and very sharp. It's also a significant step up from the Tamron 70-300 VC, you'll have no worries shooting wide open at 300mm with this one! Perfect on APS-C. Also, do not underestimate how important portability is, it's very compact at 70mm.
Pros:
- Sharp throughout zoom range at f5.6, colour and contrast fantastic
- Auto focus is amazingly fast, IS is superb
- Very compact, not overly heavy
- Metal filter threads
- Zoom lock means hood can be stored in reverse orientation and still removed without zooming the lens out
Cons:
- None, well, maybe price
- The relatively slow aperture and extension on zooming are not cons, in lens terms they are necessary design compromises to make it the size, weight and focal length range it is

An affordable alternative.
This is definitely a high quality lens, not as slow as it says on paper, image quality maintains high even at max zoom with lots of details. Unless you are shooting high speed events, I see no need for L lenses, this will work for me just fine, I mean, more than just fine!

Great lens and price
When I purchased my 7D, I also picked this lens up for some wildlife and nature photography. With the cropped sensor, 300mm is close enough for animals that don't want to eat you... I'm impressed. Images are pretty sharp and colorful.
Pros:
- Image stabilized
- Superior build quality
- Super-sharp images
Cons:
- Slow Auto-Focus

Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM Review
The Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM is a very compact telezoom for full-frame Canon SLRs, but its image quality is lacking. The Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM ($1,399) is quite compact when you consider its zoom range and compatibility with full-frame cameras. Its DO designation refers to a design that incorporates diffractive optics, which helps keep the size down, but its image quality isn't up to snuff when compared with more traditional lens designs. If you're going to spend this much on a Canon telezoom, we recommend the EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM ($1,199.00 at Amazon) ; its telephoto range isn't quite as long, but your images will be noticeably crisper. The 70-300mm ($1,099.95 at Amazon) measures just 3.9 by 3.2 inches (HD) when set to the 70mm position, weighs 1.6 pounds, and supports 58mm front filters. It can focus to 4.6 feet, which is good enough for Canon to qualify it as a macro lens. But its maximum magnification is only 0.19x, just about one-fifth life size, so calling it a macro lens is a bit of a stretch, especially when you consider the distortion that it introduces to images wh...
Pros:
- Compact
- Optically stabilized
- Full-frame coverage
Cons:
- Pricey
- Not that sharp
- Lots of distortion when zoomed

Canon 70mm-100mm zoom lens
I purchased this zoom lens from ZeeMo Digital at a very great price and it lived up to the expectations I envisioned. It was shipped out quickly and was also packaged nicely.

Versatile lens, Great for wildlife shots
I was looking for a lens that could take shots of wildlife from a distance. This lens certainly fits the bill and the IS helps in low light. I was also looking at the 100-400mm lens but the negative comments about its barrel focusing system pushed me towards this one.
Pros:
- Consistent Output
- Durable
- Easily Interchangeable
- Fast / accurate auto-focus
- Rugged
- Strong Construction
Cons:
- Heavy
- Poor in Low Light
