Excellent Lens for Cash Strapped Semi-Pros

This is an excellent mid level zoom lens for the enthusiast or cash strapped semi-professional who needs a decent zoom lens. I bought mine through Amazon Warehouse Deals in Like New condition for about half price, so I did really well price wise.

Nice Zoom Lens

The Canon 70-300mm zoom lens is a good lens. It works as it's advertised to. Canon quality can't be beat. It's light enough so you don't get tired carrying it around all day. I highly recommend it.

Canon 70-300 L IS

The worlds best 70-300. This lens is amazing and will not let you down. Perfect for full frame or crop sensor Canon DSLRs. Great focal range for field sports such as rugby, soccer etc. The AF and stabilizer are awesome.

Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6L IS USM

I have used this lens extensively over the past several years with 5D2 and 5D3 bodies. I am always amazed of the speed to focus and the beautiful image quality. It is a class act and fully lives up to it "L" pedigree. The only very minor negative is its weight which is slightly heavy.

Versatile lens, Great for wildlife shots

I was looking for a lens that could take shots of wildlife from a distance. This lens certainly fits the bill and the IS helps in low light. I was also looking at the 100-400mm lens but the negative comments about its barrel focusing system pushed me towards this one.

The Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM ($1,399) is quite compact when you consider its zoom range and compatibility with full-frame cameras. Its DO designation refers to a design that incorporates diffractive optics, which helps keep the size down, but its image quality isn't up to snuff when compared with more traditional lens designs. If you're going to spend this much on a Canon telezoom, we recommend the EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM ($1,199.00 at Amazon) ; its telephoto range isn't quite as long, but your images will be noticeably crisper. Great lens and price

When I purchased my 7D, I also picked this lens up for some wildlife and nature photography. With the cropped sensor, 300mm is close enough for animals that don't want to eat you... I'm impressed. Images are pretty sharp and colorful.
