This long, Tele stabilized zoom replaces Canon's popular 75-300mm f/4-5.6 full-frame IS lens, the industry's first IS/VR lens, introduced in 1995. The new model delivers better image stabilization (to three stops instead of two) and a wider zoom range.

Good performance, decent value and excellent image stabilisation. However, it's pretty bulky and suffers from ‘zoom creep'

Great Lens

If you're on a 1.3x or 1.6x crop body (the XTi for example) will give you 112-480mm, which is nice for the extra distance, however, if your wanting to be up with your family and friends and get full body shots you have to be standing quite far away.

"Canon"

This is a good quality product that offers good value for money in the very short term. Although as with most products of this type, the value will deteriorate over time and should be able to get a cheaper version next year. It's a great device with plenty of features that I would highly recommend.
