I bought this lens and it takes awesome pictures on both my 6D and 90D. Under good light, I can not tell a difference in picture quality between this lens vs my 70-200 F4 L IS. and the extra reach to 300mm is very good to have.

Price is great for this lens. You can take very good pictures and quite even very sharp if using a tripod. The sharpness is getting lost towards the edge of the picture. Not by much though, and you need to scrutinise this to see it. This is the best zoom lens at this price/ level.

+ very fast, sillent, light weight - poor quality plastic material but not the worst. Very good quality photos

The image stabilization is nice. You can hear it engage and disengage, but it's no louder than a shutter click. Focusing makes virtually no noise at all. I don't use the LCD on top of the lens at all, but it functions pretty nicely if you did need to use it.

My second "nano" lens. And just as lovely as the first. You have to see tobelieve the speed and smoothness of AF acquisition. The new tech makes it borderline silent. Great, must buy. The display is a Nice gimmick that is something I hope canon will add it to all nano lenses in the future.

NANO, NANO! I suspect Canon was unsure to add this in the name; But serious, this has to be one of the nicest AF system drives in history; FAST AF; And I dont mean fast but like instant; Very smooth and accurate; Very nice IQ

There is a tendency for reviewers to consider the performance of a lens without considering the investment, e.g. comparing a non L zoom to a L fixed-focal lens. They are apples and oranges as far as I am concerned.

This lens is amazing exactly what I wanted for my new canon and worth the money. Photo quality is better than I could have asked for.

I use this lens pretty heavily at sporting events (mostly racing practise and test sessions) and it is an excellent lens for medium range shots - eg when you're behind a boundary fence or in the stands taking pictures of the track.

Usually you can bank on Canon for delivering some of the best tele lenses across all classes and that also applies to the Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 USM L IS II. Canon managed to improve the lens in many aspects compared to its predecessor.
