What a lens !

This is a quality lens, sharpness and build quality is second to none. I decided to clear my camera bag out and go for quality instead of quantity. Having read all the reviews out there, this had to be my first choice.
Pros:
  • Build quality
  • features and image quality
Cons:
  • No matter who you buy this from
  • Canon has set the price high

CANON EF 70-200 mm f/2.8L II USM IS Telephoto Zoom Lens

Pros:
  • [5D mark III user] personally cant justify the cost in terms of affordability but reading all the reviews and comments (accross the web) felt i needed it
  • not had chance for a proper shoot yet, but so far no doubt an excellent performance - sharp accurate fast - and all the rest of what you read.
Cons:
  • price price price ok its heavy but thats probably the quality of materials make sure your bag can hold all your kit with this as well - its huge

Love this lens

I use this lens as a supplement to my bigger lenses (400mm and 500mm), mostly for wildlife photography. The lens is super sharp. While a bit on the heavy side, it is easily hand holdable.
Pros:
  • Easy To Use
  • Quality Construction
  • Tack Sharp

AMAZING LENS!!

Easily the best lens in my kit. The photos produced from this glass are super sharp. I love shooting at f/2.8 as the bokeh is beautiful. Excellent for shooting portraits and sports. It's ridiculously fast and autofocus is amazing! It's solid as a rock and could take a beating.

A very good lens, I bought to replace my 85 f1.8, 100 L f2.8 and 135mm L f2, however the vignetting is quite a bit more than the mentioned, they're much sharper, especially the 135 (lord of the L lens) I couldn't bring myself to part with them to pay the £2000.

Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM Review

The Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM lens is the go-to telezoom for many a pro shooter; its excellent optics make it a clear Editors' Choice. The Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM ($2,499) is a lens that you'll often see attached to the cameras of wedding and event photographers, photojournalists, and sports shooters. It's got a very useful short telephoto to telephoto zoom range, a maximum f/2.8 aperture throughout its focal range, and an image stabilization system. It puts all this in a package that, while on the heavy side, is compact for a telezoom, and its sharpness is impeccable. It's priced according to its performance, but Canon shooters who rely on their equipment to pay the bills will recognize the value packed into this lens. It's a clear Editors' Choice winner for telezoom lenses. The 70-200mm($2,199.00 at Amazon) clocks in at 7.8 by 3.5 inches (HD) and 3.3 pounds, but its diameter is increased if you opt to use the included tripod collar. Its front element accommodates 77mm filters; it doesn't rotate, nor does the lens extend, when adjusting zoom or focus. The zoom ring is placed toward the base of the le...

Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM

Another awesome 70-200 zoom from Canon. I think this lens is sharper than my f4 IS version, which is incredible. For indoor sports it focuses quickly with no mircoadjustment needed on either of my bodies. The only bummer is it's weight. Small price to pay for the images it produces.
Pros:
  • sharpness
  • contrast
  • color fidelity
  • Canon L quality
Cons:
  • weight
