Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II USM review
The Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II USM is one of the latest telephoto and super-telephoto lenses to hit the market, or perhaps we should say to clobber it, given the size and weight of the 300mm and its even bigger 400mm brother .

Wonderful wildlife travel lens
My primary reason for buying this lens was the ability to carry it in hand-luggage on a plane. It is a good size for that, even with the hood attached (in reverse) it fits comfortably into a hand-luggage size case. It's weight is very reasonable too.

OneShot
Though I was not happy with the price, even after getting some discounts from Optics Planet, they did not match price matching because no one had it in stock, even Optics Planet.
Pros:
- Clean and Chrisp
- most every shot
Cons:
- Still a bit heavy
- but not like the "Old" 300
- I use to handling

Fantastic
"Thanks to my mom and her generous monetary gift, I decided to spoil myself and purchase this lens. I love to photograph wildlife so this lens would make a great addition to my gear. I love that I can use my 2X extender and it did not interfere with the auto focus.

Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II USM
What can be written about the latest incarnation of the 300 f/22.8 that haven't been done elsewhere I bought one of the 1st lenses in Germany (reason for the high price tag) and use it ever since almost purely was a walk around lens. Either in Venice or for wildlife on my FF camera.
Pros:
- a€¢ excellent sharpness
- a€¢ comparably lightweight
- a€¢ more shallow DOF compare to the 70-200 f/2.8
- a€¢ more concentration on the subject
- a€¢ built like a tank
- a€¢ fits in my photo (air cabin) bag opposite to the 600 and 600 ds
Cons:
- a€¢ none (the lens is perfectly matching my expectations in every respect

This lens is simply phenomenal. This is my first step into the "big whites" and I am sure will be in my collection for many years to come. Optically, it is practically flawless. Condition was excellent and limited testing seems to agree with other owners appraisals. Though one reads the specs, it is almost a shock to see the actual size and feel the weight.

Canon 300mm2.8
This is the greatest lens of its size. You cannot duplicate the results of this lens with anything less. This lens will spoil you. Crutchfield is the best place to buy this lens. Besides the prohibitive cost you won't ever regret buy this lens.
Pros:
- Everything
Cons:
- Heavy weight and even heavier price tag
