The Canon EF 24mm f/2.8 IS USM is a capable but pricey ultra wideangle prime that will appeal most to landscape and reportage photographers looking for a lightweight and responsive lens.

This is another fantastic Canon prime I use for video. I have the 24mm L 1.4 ii , but i use this 2.8 specifically for video. I also have the 35mm F2 which I prefer over this do to better low-light and sharpness but this, over all if a great stabilized lens and fantastic for run-and-gun.
I like veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery mach
Did a test on this lens throughout the aperture range using an APS-C body. Wide open it's very sharp, peaking around f/5.6 and dropping off noticeably from f/11. I think it's a measure of how sharp this lens is that diffraction effect shows up relatively early.
Quick Focus; Sharp Focus; Strong Construction
This is a great lens. I bought it so I could take pictures during my recent trip to Morocco. I was able to capture full landscapes and great pictures of groups of people with amazing and full backgrounds.
compact; easy to set up; decent price
heavier than my other lenses
Love this lens! I often shoot Holiday events and it's great for small groups or individuals up close. Sharp, light weight, non-intrusive, and fast focus. I previously used a 50mm and 70-200 but this lens allows me to mingle in the party and still get full length photos with surrounding atmosphere,...
Fast / accurate auto-focus; Lightweight; Strong Construction
Great small prime for your canon camera! It works with crop and FF DSLRs. Great image quality and fast focus!
I bought this lens to use in low light places such as bars for promotional work. This thing is so much better for me than my 50 1.4 or 18-55 and 55-250. It works. The low light capabilities combined with the wide angle have produced images better than I ever dreamed of straight out of the camera.
This lens is light, small, high build quality and can be a great walking around lens for both aps-c and full frame sensor camera. It's great for landscape on full frame camera and also good at hand held shooting in low light condition because of the 4 stop IS system and f2.8 large aperture.
Superior build quality; Super-sharp images; Fast auto-focus
I own the 24-70 2.8L and the 24 - 105 4.0L. my biggest gripe has been the the lack of sharpness on the edges at the widest angle at 24 mm, as well as the darkness around the edges during indoor group shooting.
Fast auto-focus; Superior build quality; Super-sharp images; worth the money
