Excellent lens
It's an excellent lens, obviously, it's an L. My only problem with it was slow autofocus. However, I was using it indoors without flash, and am still new to the lens, so we'll see...
Pros:
- Nice Bokeh
- Rugged
- Strong Construction
Cons:
- Blurry Focus
- Heavy
- Slow Focus

Ideal lens for low-light interior photography
"After being disappointed in the performance of the kit lenses bundled with my Canon 40D I decided to buy this lens (Canon EF 24mm F1.4L II USM). What a difference. This lens is very well suited for low-light interior photography as it's fast and has a nice and wide FOV.

Courteous staff handled problem nicely
This particular lens was "off" dramatically in terms of focus accuracy. This was particularly disappointing because it was to go on a European trip with me (it got sent back instead). I have several other L lenses and will consider this an anomaly unless the next one is the same.
Pros:
- Strong Construction
- Durable
Cons:
- Blurry Focus

Canon EF 24mm f/1.4L II USM Lens Review
Gary Wolstenholme reviews the premium fast wide-angle Canon EF 24mm f/1.4L II USM lens.
Pros:
- Excellent optical performance
- Build quality
- Fast focusing
- Bright maximum aperture
- Resistance to flare and loss of contrast
Cons:
- May be a little pricey for some
- Quality towards the edges at maximum aperture could be better (although this is a minor concern for a wide aperture lens like this)

A high quality fast wide lens.
A superb lens for low light shooting but also an excellent prime for landscapes on full frame cameras. Optical quality remains excellent on a 1.6 crop camera and still provides a very useful focal length (close to 35mm). Great sharpness even wide open, fast and accurate focus.
Pros:
- Consistent Output
- Contrasty
- Durable
- Great colour
- Quick Focus
- Sharp Focus
Cons:
- Not cheap

My favourite lens
If I had just 1 lens to use for everything this would be it. Its view matches how I see the world (on my 7D). It is fast, sharp, rock solid and reliable. Highly recommended.
Pros:
- Superior build quality
- Super-sharp images
- Fast auto-focus

Great optics for the price!
This here is the BEST 24mm you will find in the world. Having a maximum aperture of 1.4 is VERY useful in low light and great for subject isolation. My only problem is that it had a bit of a front focus problem but I sent that to Canon for recalibration free of charge.
Pros:
- Durable
- Fast / accurate auto-focus
- Nice Bokeh
- Strong Construction
Cons:
- Heavy
