Great Lens
My first L series lens and I couldn't be happier. It provides sharp, nice and contrasty images with accurate autofocus. I had originally got the Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 but wasn't happy with the autofocus or its performance compared to my other Canon zooms.

"The Canon 24-70/4 L IS lens is an excellent lens by just about any standard. It's main (minor) failing is that it is not quite as good as the Canon 24-70/2.8 L II. By any other standard it is a great lens.

Canon EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM
I can only imagine that SLR Gear was unlucky enough to get THREE faulty copies of this lens. Mine (used on a full frame 1-Ds ii) is almost as sharp in the corners as in the centre, even at full aperture, and does not show the terrible corner performance of the SLR gear tests.

- Macro mode

Great Lens Like New
This lens is great for portraits and group images. It takes great pictures and is light enough use for hours. I am very happy with this lens, it could pass as brand new.
