I bought this lens while I was away in my Military training, and coming back home to find me a nice looking lens. The condition was mint, although with some scratches as mentioned. I kept it safe and sound in my bag and used it 2 times without any problem. On the 3rd usage, the zoom did not work.

Canon 17-40mm f/4.0 L USM review

Covering both full-frame and APS-C sensors, the EF 17-40mm has proved popular with photographers since its launch – and for good reason
Pros:
  • Build quality
  • promises only what it can deliver in style
Cons:
  • Limited focal range

Fantastic wide angle lens!

This lens auto-focuses very quickly, the build quality is superb and when stopped down, the images are very sharp. Highly recommended!

Affordable L Glass Lens

Great value L glass lens. I got this lens to upgrade from my kit lens for my Canon Rebel T5. Just tested this lens out by taking exhibit hall and cosplay photos at San Diego Comic Con.

"Canon"

This is a good quality product that offers good value for money in the very short term. Although as with most products of this type, the value will deteriorate over time and should be able to get a cheaper version next year. It's a great device with plenty of features that I would highly recommend.
Pros:
  • Good Value Product
Cons:
  • Not many

I use to have the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8. I sacrificed the f2.8 max aperture for Canon L glass and build quality. I'm glad I did. My past Tamron accumulated much dust over its use and non-Canon lenses have poor resale value.
Pros:
  • Weather-resistant construction
  • Affordable L series lens
  • Light weight
Cons:
  • The lens hood blocks the built in flash in my former Canon 30D

Wedding Photographer's Dream Lens

[...] For weddings and outdoor photography, the focal length of this lens doesn't get any better. I had considered getting a comparable third brand lens (17-50 f2.8), but I ended up having to stop it down to f4 as it was soft wide open.
Pros:
  • Consistent Output
  • Durable
  • Rugged
  • Strong Construction
