The Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM III ‘trinity’ zoom is a major overhaul...
Exceptional Autofocus and sharpness. Replaced 3 of my other dedicated focal length lenses quite easily.
I traded in my 24-70 zoom for this lens, am though my other lens for very good, this is even better, especially for wide angle close ups, it's superb. Obviously I use it with my full frame SLR and it's a great match.
This lens is awesome! I use it for super tight spaces or when I want a grand photo! Of course if you shoot low aperature it's not as good since the lowest it goes is 2.8, but for higher FStops it's awesome
The latest version of the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM lens is its best take on an f/2.8 wide zoom yet.
Wide-angle zoom; Full-frame coverage; Wide f/2.8 aperture; Strong image quality; Fluorine lens coating
Pricey; Omits image stabilization; Some distortion and vignetting visible in images
The Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM ($2,199) is an upgrade to the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM. It's more expensive—the II version was priced around $1,700—but sports superior optics for better results. It gives photographers the ability to use the lens at its maximum aperture and capture sharp images, which is what you're paying for when comparing it with the previous model or other zooms that cover a similar range. If you demand the best from your camera, and are a fan of the 16-35mm coverage range, it's the lens to get, and earns our Editors' Choice. Design Despite upgrades on the inside, the 16-35mm III ($2,199.00 at Amazon) doesn't look that much different than its predecessor. It follows the Canon L-series design motif, housing premium glass inside a tough polycarbonate barrel. It's black—Canon reserves gray barrels for its telephoto line—with a red accent stripe at the front. Front and rear caps, a reversible lens hood, and a soft carrying pouch are included. The lens measu...

I use this lens with a 5D Mk III. I spent ages wondering about buying it as an upgrade to my old F4 L series lens covering the same range but decided to "go for it" ahead of a big trip to New Zealand.

Very pleased with this incredibly versatile lens - it's everything I hoped it would be, and more. I'm not a professional photographer, although photography is my main hobby, and I enjoy gradually expanding my DSLR skills when I can.
This is an incredible lens. I haven't had the opportunity to try the previous-generation models. Even at 16mm, the vignetting is very muted, and what little there is adds to the look of the photos. I'm extremely pleased.
