Canon EF 14mm f/2.8L II USM Lens Review

Canon EF 14mm f/2.8L II USM is currently the widest rectilinear prime lens manufactured by Canon. The EF-S 10-20mm f/3.5-4.5 USM offers an even wider angle of view, but is an EF-S lens that can be mounted only on APS-C cameras like Canon Digital Rebel seried, Canon 30D and Canon 40D.

Canon EF 14mm f/2.8L II USM review by DeanaDigiSLRFan

Overall the lens has been great over the first week but it just hasn't wowed me yet. I am taking it away in the coming months so perhaps this view will change. A wonderful sharp copy - it just seems like a "business as usual lens" to me - not that th that's ats a bad thing - on the whole I will use...

A winner in the garden

Was not quite as good as some other lenses I have brought for the same price

Canon's EF 14mm f/2.8L II USM Ultra-Wide Lens

The expansive coverage of a 14mm lens may be more than you think you need. But you'd be surprised to discover that it reveals a world of possibilities that might otherwise escape you. While it certainly is ideal when shooting in open country, a super-wide lens can do wonders in tight quarters.

Canon EF 14mm f/2.8L II USM Review

Any lens that carries a near £2,000 price tag has to be pretty special, and Canon's 14mm ultra-wide ticks the boxes in both respects. With its one-piece lens cap in place the 14mm lens looks rather ordinary but as soon as the cap is removed a bulbous front element comes into view, surrounded by a...

A stellar performer for architecture and that wwwiiiiddddeee perspective which brings out the creativity. Very solid build quality. I often end up going for my 17-40 instead though when I need glare taken off water ie streams.

Very sharp; great colors; little distortion; built like a tank

The lens coating helps but its no polarizer

A must have WOW lens

the 14mm lens is a MUST HAVE lens, especially for anyone into wedding photography or landscape photography. It is super quick and really fills the frame with vibe. It is really easy to feel emotions when viewing photographs taken with the 14mm 2.8 lens as each picture gives you a sense of space yet...

Superior build quality; Super-sharp images; Fast auto-focus

Significant improvement over the previous lens.

As soon as i received it, i set my camera up on a tripod and shot the same picture, first with the old canon 14mm, and then with the new. The improvement in the new lens in terms of corner to corner sharpness was really significant.

Awesome lens

This lens just arrived & I am so happy I chose this against any other zoom like the 17-40 etc. I'm using this on a full frame & it is very very wide with NO image distortion, it is pin sharp. I will be using this lens for interior of churches & landscapes. This without doubt is my fave lens of all.
