Sports Photographer

This is my second 100-400 lens. I absolutely love the new version even more than the previous one I bought about about 15 years ago. This is my go-to lens for sports photography. I can use it sitting in the stands and I always get great shots.
Pros:
  • Sharp Portable
Cons:
  • None

CanonEFlens

Canon EF lenses are the best. This particular lens has great stability, lets in so much light and is light weight compared to the previous version.

Given its substantial cost, it took me a long time to decide to buy this lens. I'm so glad I did. It has lived up to and surpassed all my expectations. The lens is super sharp of course, but it's the image stabilisation and focus speed that make it a joy to use.

Glad I Upgraded

Initially, I was hesitant to upgrade from my Canon EF 100 - 400mm IS I to the ISII. After all, I had taken some great photos with the original lens. My primary use of this lens is wildlife photography, for which this lens offers a practical alternative for those who cannot afford the 'big guns'.

Takes great pictures- not great in low light

This is a great lens. When I borrowed on my son told me, "These are the best freakin pictures you have ever taken." The next day I purchased one from Digital Goja through Amazon. The questions I had were answered quickly. All the products arrived as promised.

Stunning

I have had one of these for a couple of years and I continue to be blown away by it. Canon has produced a simply stunniung piece of glass. The performance is so fast and smooth and razor sharp. It does have a bit of weight to it and the combination of my 5DmkIII weighs in at some 6lb.

A fantastic piece of glass

I have owned a number of large tele lenses, but the 100-400 stands alone in its combination of outstanding optics whilst staying super light. I know a lot of seasoned wildlife photographers who swear by this lens. Its great value, super sharp and very wieldy.

One of the best zoo/wildlife/travel lenses!!

I've owned this lens since it was released... two years ago. Firstly, don't confuse it with it's predecessor, the mark 1. The mark I was one of the most controversial lenses, where people either loved it or hated it.
