Fantastic addition to the camera. Works so much better than the standard internal microphone. Wind cover works really well and cuts out wind roar in even the most extreme conditions. Easy and quick to fit. Shot gun works as effectively as a hand held mic. in front of the subject.

I Bought this mic 3 years ago, The hot shoe must have gotten bump some how and I did not know it, I shot a couple of events and I noticed a small clucking sound in my videos. It only happen when I walked with the camera. So I figured it out what was wrong. I called canon.

It didn't take much research to find out that this was exactly the microphone I was looking for. Every time I searched for "external microphones" the DM-100 came to the top of the list for both "bestsellers" and "best rated". Now that I have it in hand, I can see why.

Although I've just received it a few simple tests show that the mic will be an excellent purchase. I bought it for music video work when I'm 30 feet behind the band. Great thing is there is no cables since my Canon camera has a special hotshoe that is made for this mic.

"The mic does exactly what it says it will do. I have tested all modes. The mic is definitely better then the built in mics on the Canon camcorders. There is more depth to the sound. I find I like the ""SHOT GUN"" and ""90 degree STEREO"" mode the best.

Very happy with the pure straight, not boxed in like sound, compared to the inbuilt cannon microphone.

We are still getting used to the mike, and have to try the other settings, but so far, in shotgun mode it has improved the sound quality a bunch. Above that, I would highly reccomend purchasing any product thru JR. Very professional, and follow through and communication is perfect.

This is a great accessory for my Camera, especially because I shoot outside a lot so less wind noise is such a pleasure for me, but other than that, it works so well for a consumer camera I am pretty amazing.

Absorbs great sound; perfect clarity and crystal clear; its very easy to use; compact and the background noise is kind of drowned out as the sound direction is switchable...

Very expensive while is feels cheap; but it works
