I love the thin and compact unit of this scanner, which can hold paperwork atop when not in use for minimal space loss, it can actually stand up if needed.

A good replacement for my, now non-OS X Mountain Lion complaint, old Lide 60. Canon Scanners have never gave me problems. The 700f works beautifully, you don't need to install software on OS X 10.8, higher quality scans, faster capture time, good integration with Adobe Photoshop CS6...

Regrettably, the scanner isn't what I expected. It works well but I need something different. The CanoScan LiDE700F isn't the ideal scanner for negatives and it's not possible to scan slides.

In the past I have never needed a decent scanner but when my recent printer was a bit poor in the scanning department I made it a priority to get myself one. Simple to set up, the innovative 3-way design that this scanner boasts – with a flip-out stand, which allows it to be used in portrait, landscape or vertical positions - means it should fit neatly into any home office.

Cover feels very delicate. I just have to handle it like a piece of equipment and be gentle. Not a con, though. Picked it up when they had a Christmas sale and it was well discounted. I would have gone with a cheaper version otherwise.

Cover is not heavy enough to press anything flat if you need to scan that sort of thing; I do from time to time, but put a book on the top

very disappointed. The scanner would not work. It would power up, the scanner light would flash, and then there would be a grating sound. That would be it. When the scanner first arrived, the scanner was locked, but the travelling unit was in the middle of the scan area.

Behagligt snabb om man inte har för stora krav på upplösning; 300 BPI duger för de flesta dokumentskanningar, Praktiskt att kunna välja vilket format på utfilen, PDF, JPEG, BPM eller TIFF beroende på om man vill efterbearbeta materialet eller ej, Snabbknapparna funkar utmärkt.

Canon framställer att denna skanner också kan användas för att läsa in film (både negativ/positiv färg resp sv/v 35-mm film); Teoretiskt så är upplösningen 9600 bpi lovande men när det kommer till praktiken så är det bara att konstatera att det funkar inte alls; Det är inte en enda enhetlig sensor
