Software is Pathetic

I bought this to upgrade from a LiDE 600. Nice, solid scanner absolutely undermined by software apparently designed as a high-school programming project. No logic or rhyme or reason for menu options, poor, slow results. I've had to buy third-party software (PaperScan) to make it usable.
Pros:
  • Compact Design
  • vertical install
Cons:
  • Difficult to use

A great scanner that works efficiently

The problem I have always had in the past with regard to scanners is the poor quality images they tend to convey, and the lengthy scanning time. What I wanted from my new scanner, thus, was a combination of high resolution images and a prompt scanning period.
Pros:
  • Reliability

Canoscan LiDE 700F

Great scanner for this price range. Lived up to my expectations. I previously owned a Canon MP360 which I also enjoyed; unfortunately they are not repairable.

Worthy

I love the thin and compact unit of this scanner, which can hold paperwork atop when not in use for minimal space loss, it can actually stand up if needed.

"Stylish Scanner"

In the past I have never needed a decent scanner but when my recent printer was a bit poor in the scanning department I made it a priority to get myself one. I knew the name Canon because of photo cameras I had used in the past so I knew that the product would have a reliable brand name attached to...
Pros:
  • Quick and has good features
Cons:
  • Not scanning everything at times

Great speed and value

Cover feels very delicate. I just have to handle it like a piece of equipment and be gentle. Not a con, though. Picked it up when they had a Christmas sale and it was well discounted. I would have gone with a cheaper version otherwise.
Pros:
  • I love this thing
  • Scans fast, clear and crisp
Cons:
  • Cover is not heavy enough to press anything flat if you need to scan that sort of thing
  • I do from time to time, but put a book on the top
