I had the Canon LiDE 25 scanner for ages, and it finally died. This one is 100 times faster. I use it mostly for scanning bills and checks so I can't really speak to the color accuracy but it seems pretty spot-on.

Soaftware did not work with Mac OS 10.14. Had to buy VueScan, cost more than the scanner!
I bought this product a weeks agod and I am so happy for this scan.
Bought this scanner as a basic office scanner for my company. It is simple to hook up and use. The scan quality is great for documents.
I needed a replacement scanner and this Canon flat bed scanner is easy to use and does a wonderful job of photos and documents. A very portable device to use with my laptop.
Otherwise, everything else is the same. And, yes, I get that for budget-strapped students and others, especially those who just don't scan often , that $20 could be more wisely spent elsewhere. Either CanoScan model will work just fine in low-volume scanning environments.
Strong software bundle for the price; Easy to use; Good photo-scanning quality
Scanning serif fonts with the default utility could be more accurate; Limited mobile device support
The Canon CanoScan LiDE 300 ($69.99) is an entry-level flatbed scanner designed to digitize photographs and for very light document scanning in homes, home offices, and small offices. For the $20 difference between the LiDE 300 and the Editors' Choice Canon CanoScan LiDE 400, though, you give up half the resolution, slightly faster scans, and the ability to stand the scanner upright to save desk space. If every penny counts and these perks don't matter to you, the LiDE 300 is a perfectly capable light-duty machine. Lean and Easy to Use At 1.7 by 14.5 by 9.9 inches (HWD) and weighing only 3.6 pounds, the LiDE 300 is small and light. It's also the same size as its LiDE 400 sibling, except that, as mentioned, the latter comes with a kickstand that holds the chassis upright vertically. Two competing models, the Epson Perfection V19 and Perfection V39 ($99.99 at Amazon) , are also about the same size, weight, and price as the CanoScan models, and, like the LiDE 400, they both come ...
For an occasional-use photograph and document scanner, the entry-level flatbed CanoScan LiDE 300 is a good value, but its LiDE 400 sibling is only $20 more and comes with valuable extras.

Can be tricky to install the downloaded app if you use a work computer that requires "Super Admin" privileges. So not a straight "Plug and Play"
so far so good
