Call of Juarez: The Cartel Review

(continued from previous page) ...trap of laughable execution. The graphics are overall not horrible, but the cut-scenes are so bugged that it's hard to take any of the dialogue or story progress seriously.

The clever use of co-op storytelling; Playing online is relatively rewarding

The gun battles are sluggish and sloppy; The various visual and audio bugs; which ruin the otherwise decent presentation; The poor A.I

Call of Juarez: The Cartel Review

If there is certain things I know about being a gangster, it involves unreadable tattoos, baldness, filling up the closet with wife-beaters, and exercising the f-word every ten seconds.

Several characters to choose from; Drop-in/drop-out co-op; Fun multiplayer with challenging ranking system

...with less than stellar combat; Drop-in/drop-out co-op; Fun multiplayer with challenging ranking system; I am now fluent in bad English; homes

bad, bad, bad

Looking forward to this game, game play was horrible. Graphics were worse. Kept glitching and catching. Oh and did say graphics were horrible, try this game if you like, interesting enough storyline, but you will return it.

Call of Juarez: The Cartel review

How do you get modern weapons into a cowboy game, without setting it in a sci-fi era? You move it into the modern day, and Techland have done just that with Call of Juarez: The Cartel.

Decent storyline; Collecting items in secret is fun and tactical in co-op.

Repeated dialogue is annoying; Falling on the floor from distant explosions can be irritating.

Call Of Juarez: The Cartel Review

Perhaps with more development time, The Cartel would have been a more compelling experience but, with a game engine that's showing its age, a confused new identity and a fair few technical issues, it falls sadly short of most FPS fans' high expectations.

Techland Sets New Low With Call of Juarez: The Cartel

I didn't have very high expectations for Call of Juarez: The Cartel at all. I thought the game would at least be passable. What I played this last week was one of the least enjoyable video game experiences I've ever had, and I would be extremely surprised if there were to be a fourth game in this...

Okay. This is not a masterpiece, agreed. Still it's an FPS which tries to tell a story! Gasp! While graphics and animations are not nearly as good as they should be, the campaign is fun thanks to a solid plot with some pretty heavy themes.

a diffrent take on FPS!.

Magazines and websites seem to hate this game for some reason, within 10 minutes i loved the game as its really fun to play, the graphics might not be all that but the experience is fun and the awesome CO-OP is much better than most FPS co-op games.

PS3/X360 Review - 'Call of Juarez: The Cartel'

The shooter genre doesn't produce the most original content these days, so many franchises are trying their best to do something to stand out from the likes of Call of Duty and Battlefield .
