Call of Juarez: The Cartel Review

Call of Juarez: The Cartel was never going to take over the world, but coming from a series that was once unique and interesting it certainly destroys the legacy of its predecessors.

Call of Juarez: The Cartel review

In a bold move, Ubisoft has sanctioned a shift for the Juarez franchise. It's no longer set in the Wild West, nor is it predominantly set in Juarez. Good move, or very very bad?

Innovative side-story involving character intrigue; Overarching story theme has appeal

Poor combat, repetitive audio cues, glitchy character pathing; Graphics, animation and cinematic sequences feel old; The multiplayer is underdeveloped; A Call of Juarez title should be an old Western experience

Call of Juarez 1 and 2 were interesting for roughly, if not exactly, two reasons. #1: The Wild West, at the time, was a cool and totally underutilized setting for an FPS and #2: you played as two protagonists with polar opposite goals, one grizzled preacher chases, and one bow wielder runs away.

Call of Juarez The Cartel Review

With Call of Juarez: The Cartel, developer Techland has taken its now three-strong series into the modern era, but in doing so has produced what feels like the most dated game of the bunch.

Call of Juarez: The Cartel proves that good ideas mean little when they don't have a solid foundation to support them.

It has been almost two months since Call of Juarez: The Cartel was released on consoles. In the time since, you may have hoped that developer Techland would have been busy fixing the problems that plagued those versions for the game's PC release.

Secret agendas smartly link the gameplay with the story; Challenges give co-op play a competitive edge; Many levels offer room to maneuver

You miss out on the good stuff when you play on your own; Low online population makes it hard to find co-op partners; Unlikable characters that say and do unlikable things; Lots of bugs and glitches; Overdone; distracting blur effect

a diffrent take on FPS!.

Magazines and websites seem to hate this game for some reason, within 10 minutes i loved the game as its really fun to play, the graphics might not be all that but the experience is fun and the awesome CO-OP is much better than most FPS co-op games.

bad, bad, bad

Looking forward to this game, game play was horrible. Graphics were worse. Kept glitching and catching. Oh and did say graphics were horrible, try this game if you like, interesting enough storyline, but you will return it.
