Call of Juarez

Call of Juarez, an introduction. Given the popularity of Western movies and FPS games it's surprising that we haven't see more Wild West flavoured shooters. In fact most of the time the genre seems to be infatuated with the World War II theme (which has been done far too much) and this is a shame.

Hmmm

Parts of the game are cool as had the first and second games but really not near as good as most games I keep after playing them so trade in

It is not unusual to see works of fiction borrow from recent real life events.  Video games are no different in this regard, but because of their current reputation as the destroyer of youth, they have to be careful when approaching real-life conflicts.

Call of Juarez: The Cartel review

A gangster emerges from cover, points his guns in the wrong direction and sidles toward me like a drug-addled crab. How did this man even survive this long in a Mexican drug cartel?

Call of Juarez

If you like the idea of having some half-baked morality crammed down your throat, enjoy a good double-standard and find yourself just itchin' to play a confining and constrictive Western-flavored shooter, then boy, is Call of Juarez for you.

Juarez: Not So Golden

Despite a vastly successful century of classic western films and then the spaghetti resurrections native to the 1960s, game developers have been visibly resistant in translating John Wayne and Charles Bronson to the digital realm, preferring instead to focus on more modern titles.

Ray's voice is fantastic; fun gun duels; bow hunting

Platforming is broken; unbalanced gameplay

Call Of Juarez: Bound In Blood (PC)

Call Of Juarez was released 2 years ago by Ubisoft and it was a game set in the Wild West that dealt with a mission for revenge as well as the hunt for a cursed treasure. Reverend Ray was a fantastic character, a fanatical preacher who quoted from the bible while shooting people in the face.

Call of Juarez Review

With first-person shooters rapidly running out of new ideas, perhaps it's time to look at the underused settings for inspiration. Everyone has nuked an alien in the face or blown up a WWII bunker, but not many have travelled across a dusty landscape with two six-shooters in hand.

The solid gameplay and main story, as well as the bonus modes, ensure that you get a thoroughly enjoyable gaming experience. These even overcome the fact that the game is as short as it is.
