Call of duty WAW on the DS is one of the best shooters on the portable console and should be a must-own for any DS owners. The guns in the game feel just right and the graphics are some of the best on the DS. Overall Call of Duty WAW is a five star shooter and great for on the road or at home.

Just plain fun; Intense action

Modern War was a difficult title to follow up. Therefore in that sense World at War is a little lacking to one of the best first person shooters, at least in my opinion. That is why I do not truly see this as a follow up, especially since Modern War 2 is the true follow up to CoD 4.

Call of Duty: World at War

Throughout the history of the Call of Duty games, developer Infinity Ward has created each major version of the game and then handed things off to Treyarch to handle the expansions and minor sequels.

Call of Duty: World at War

When Infinity Ward released Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare back in 2007, the developer was met with critical acclaim and praise for breaking away from the World War II setting that had started to bog down the once revolutionary series.

Great campaign with a variety of missions; excellent replay value; tons of multiplayer options; exceptional production values

A few random, irritating glitches; World War II setting won't appeal to everyone

Not Merely Another WWII Shooter

If you are dedicated shooter player, or a fan of the Call of Duty series, then World at War should be in your collection. If you are new to to the realm of FPSs, then I recommend you look elsewhere and too one of the other consoles for your wants.

Call of Duty, the shooter series whose title has become a household name for games, seems to either make or break when they release a new installment; World at War is not just another run-of-the-mill whoop the Axis and win the war with fanfare and cheers shooter.

For games used to the button-pressing of other shooters, transferring to the Wii is a tall order; The largest hassle is the throwing of grenades, when you are required to twist your remote counter-clockwise to switch (for a millisecond) to a smoke grenade.

"Great style"

Despite many people saying this game pales in comparison to Call of Duty 4, it actually does quite well for itself. I'm not the biggest fan of World War II games but I have to say I enjoyed the way the story was delivered.

Call of Duty: World at War; better than CoD4?

Let's be honest. The only question everyone seems to want the answer to is whether Call of Duty: World at War is better than CoD4 or not. Right? Thankfully, the answer is a lot more involved than you might think.

Awesome

This game has a very good single player campaign and when you finish it, you unlock a game mode called Nazi Zombies, which is when you have to defend off zombies who are trying to get inside your small building and kill you. If they hit you twice, you will be down, but not out.

Call of Duty: World at War

"Stunning." That's the only word that can adequately describe the graphics in Call of Duty: World at War . Everything around you is crisp and clear, down to the faces of your compadres and enemies.

A great game and worth owning

World at war is a great addition to the COD series. Many were disappointed that it was set in WW2 after modern warfare. But this is a great game, unlike the rest of the series you can also get in tanks on the multiplayer games.
