Modern Warfare 3 is, in some ways, a bit like buying a Spice Girls album, in that, no matter how cool you think you are, it's impossible not to sing along. This is what Call of Duty is, gaming fun in its purest form.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is a little predictable, and it isn't a big step forward for the series, but it isn't a step back either. It is kind of exactly what you expect when you start a Call of Duty game which, really, is a good thing.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 doesn't revolutionize the genre, nor does it make any pretence to, but what it does do, it does extremely well. For those who still enjoy the cinematic high action of the series, this is a fine ending to the current story arc.

The whole package makes this a good game. The game feels balanced and is fun to play provided you've got a good group of people in your games. The Co-op and new modes and options show that they didn't just slap a big THREE on MW2 and thought about expanding the game as they went.

It would be easy to dismiss Modern Warfare 3 as just another iterative update to the massively successful shooter series. Every review you are going to see for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is going to focus on the change in developers. Their reviews will focus on the departure of Vince Zampella and Jason West, or the new Elite service, or any of the controversy surrounding Activision Blizzard and/or Infinity Ward.

Come for the multiplayer. Stay for the multiplayer.

A week or two ago, Activision invited us to Palm Springs for the opportunity of playing through Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 's Single Player Campaign, plus the chance to play as much multiplayer and Spec Ops as we could possibly handle. Does Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 live up to the hype?
