Brink
It's hard for someone like myself, who's so accustomed to Call of Duty-esque first person shooters, to actually play a shooter tactfully instead of the normal running and gunning; but that's exactly how Brink was meant to be played.

Brink review (X360)
The problem with Brink is that it's not very Call of Duty . Unlike nearly everyone else making multiplayer shooters, developer Splash Damage isn't making a game for Call of Duty players, who already have a game anyway.

Brink
Did you play Enemy Territory or Quake Wars: Enemy Territory? Okay, now get rid of the Field Ops class, remove the vehicles from Quake Wars and add in a shitty parkour mechanic. There you go; that's all you need to know about Brink. What are you still doing here? The review is finished. Go home.
Pros:
- Basically just another Enemy Territory with some features removed
Cons:
- Basically just another Enemy Territory with some badly unneeded features tacked-on

Brink Review
Back in 2008, DICE released an intriguing first-person anti-shooter called Mirror's Edge. Not without its flaws, the idea of parkour free running from a first-person perspective was a fascinating concept.

Brink
As resources dwindle, the residents of the near-future Ark split into first-person-shooting factions composed of security goons and resistance fighters. You'll start your game of Brink by pimping out your wardrobe, watching an unnecessarily long tutorial video, and then jumping into short campaigns...
Pros:
- + Four classes
- 50-plus abilities
- an arsenal of customizable weapons
- and plentiful dress-up options
- + Atrocious A.I.
Cons:
- - Maps favor clutter and sprawl over organic flow and well-crafted choke points

Greatness is rarely achieved without ambition. Jumping into the battlefields of Brink, you get the immediate sense that you are playing an ambitious first-person shooter. Four interdependent soldier classes and three distinct body types combine to create a diverse array of ways to kill your enemies,...

Brink Review
Call of Duty has been a damn good FPS series over the years, but let's face it: it's never been big on promoting teamwork when playing online. Everyone fights for themselves, and the things that most Call of Duty players primarily care about - kill/death ratio, unlocking new stuff, being at the top...

Brink Review
Brink is one of those games that is going to be a love/hate affair depending on who you ask. This is not your standard first-person shooter where fragging online with your pals will be the talk...
Pros:
- + Tons of customization
- + The upgrade system
- + Lots of depth
- + The art style
Cons:
- SMART system can be finicky
- Offline is uninspired
- Steep learning curve

REVIEW: Brink (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)
There's plenty of potential in Brink. Its flowing movement controls are a breath of fresh air, forcing shooter fans to think fast while online and apply a completely different set of tactics to those found in the likes of Call of Duty.
